The Vikings allowed 481 yards and 37 points during the Wek 17 loss to the Packers and play the Bears on Sunday.
Analysis: Green Bay scored only three points in the first quarter but dominated the rest of the ways, with WR Davante Adams totaling 136 receiving yards while RB Aaron Jones totaled 106 yards from scrimmage. The Sean Mannion-led offense provided minimal relief as the Minnesota D/ST finished with zero sacks or takeaways. QB Justin Fields is likely out again after landing on the COVID-19 list, so Andy Dalton is poised to start the season finale for Chicago. The Bears don't have much to offer on offense…read more

The Vikings allowed 356 yards and 30 points during the Week 16 loss to the Rams and plays the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST fared relatively well with three takeaways, but it had zero sack and Los Angeles still put up 30 points. The outlook won't improve this weekend in Green Bay, especially since the Minnesota offense will be without QB Kirk Cousins. QB Aaron Rodgers still rarely turns the ball over for the Packers, and Davante Adams remains arguably the best wideout in football. The Vikings D/ST isn't a viable fantasy option for Week 17.

The Vikings allowed 370 yards and nine points during the Week 15 win over the Bears and play the Rams on Sunday.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST consistently allowed Chicago to move the ball down the field but used three sacks and three takeaways to limit the scoring. It was the first time in four games giving up fewer than 28 points, though the pass rush has remained steady with a league-leading 44 sacks. QB Matthew Stafford and the Rams struggled to get things going against the Seahawks last week, but it's difficult to envision Minnesota being able to contain WR Cooper Kupp. The Vikings D/ST is off the fantasy radar…read more

The Vikings allowed 375 yards and 28 points during the Week 14 win over the Steelers and play the Bears on Monday.
Analysis: Minnesota was sitting pretty with a 29-0 lead in the third quarter, but things fell apart the rest of the way. The D/ST had five sacks and one takeaway but botched what could have been a more productive performance. Rookie QB Justin Fields continues to make his share of mistakes, so the Vikings D/ST is a decent option for Week 15 with some upside.

The Vikings allowed 372 yards and 29 points during the Week 13 loss to the Lions and play the Steelers on Thursday.
Analysis: Detroit hadn't scored 20-plus points since the season opener, but QB Jared Goff was able to move the offense with some consistency Sunday. The Minnesota D/ST had three sacks and two takeaways for a modest fantasy performance, but the on-field results were much worse than that. The Steelers have scored only 30 points across the past two games, as QB Ben Roethlisberger struggles to lead the offense with much consistency. The Vikings surrendered 423 yards and 34 points during the Week 12 loss to the 49ers and play the Lions on Sunday.
Analysis: It was a day to forget for the Minnesota D/ST with two sacks and one takeaway while giving up 5.3 yards per carry, but a kickoff return touchdown from RB Kene Nwangwu salvaged some production from an otherwise poor afternoon. Week 13 brings a much more favorable matchup, as Detroit is averaging 14.1 points since scoring 33 in the season opener. The Minnesota D/ST hasn't been able to produce consistently in 2021, but it's one of the top streaming options for this weekend.

The Vikings gave up 31 points and 467 yards during the Week 11 win over the Packers and play the 49ers on Sunday.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST had two sacks and zero takeaways, as QB Aaron Rodgers was generally able to do as he pleased and averaged 11.7 yards per pass. QB Jimmie Garoppolo has been playing well for San Francisco, and young WRs Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk have quickly become dependable weapons. The Vikings allowed 20 points and 253 yards during the Week 10 win over the Chargers and play the Packers on Sunday.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST had one takeaways and two sacks for a modest fantasy effort, but overall it had a strong showing and held QB Justin Herbert to 5.7 yards per pass. The Vikings rank tied-first in sacks (29) but are middle of the pack in takeaways (12) and scoring defense (23.4 PPG). The Vikings gave up 500 yards and 34 points during the Week 9 overtime loss to the Ravens and play the Chargers on Sunday.
Analysis: RB Kene Nwangwu returned the opening kick of the second half for a touchdown, and it was otherwise an exhausting day for the Minnesota D/ST. It had three sacks and two takeaway, but Baltimore still dominated the ball and had over 46 minutes of possession. The Vikings gave up 419 yards and 20 points during the Week 8 loss to the Cowboys and play the Ravens on Sunday.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST had a decent fantasy showing with two takeaways and three sacks, but overall it was an uninspired performance as Cooper Rush started under center in place of Dak Prescott. Facing QB Lamar Jackson in Week 9 certainly doesn't make things any easier and pushes the Vikings D/ST off the fantasy radar.

The Vikings come out of their bye ranked 16th in total defense (358.3 YPG) and 13th in scoring (22.8 PPG) heading into Sunday's matchup with the Cowboys.
Analysis: Minnesota was a solid defensive unit through the first six games of the year and are tied-first in the league in sacks (21) and tied-17th in takeaways (seven). Meanwhile Dallas is leading the league in scoring (34.2 PPG), are tied-third in sacks allowed (nine) and tied-ninth in giveaways (seven). Analysis: Minnesota allowed 4.6 yards per play and totaled four sacks and two takeaways. Analysis: The run defense continues to be a problem for Minnesota, as RBs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt combined for 181 yards from scrimmage despite QB Baker Mayfield passing for only 155 yards. The Vikings had three sacks and zero takeaways, and it was a noteworthy performance given the Browns entered the contest averaging 28.7 PPG. The Vikings allowed 389 yards and 17 points during the Week 3 win over the Seahawks and play the Browns on Sunday.
Analysis: It seemed likely to be an ugly defensive performance for Minnesota after surrendering 17 points in the first half, but it held Seattle scoreless after halftime. The Vikings D/ST didn't offer much fantasy value with two sacks and zero takeaways, but it was still an encouraging performance versus a quality offense. LB Anthony Barr (knee) sat out the Vikings' Week 1 loss to the Bengals, and his status remains in question heading into Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals.
Analysis: The Minnesota D/ST recorded five sacks but otherwise didn't offer much in the season opener with zero takeaways and 27 points allowed. QB Joe Burrow completed 20 of 27 pass attempts and surrendered 127 yards on the ground to RB Joe Mixon. Arizona is coming off a dominant victory over the Titans in which it put up 38 points. Analysis: Barr has been progressing well and could be available for Week 1 against Cincinnati, but it's a potentially worrying development for a player who was limited to two games due to a pectoral injury last year. Analysis: Pierce signed with Minnesota in March of 2020 but opted out of the season, and he enters training camp with a calf issue, though he's expected to be ready for Week 1. Along with the return of Danielle Hunter (neck), who also missed all of last year, and the signing of DT Dalvin Tomlinson, the Vikings will receive a significant boost up front after a down year in 2020. Meanwhile, Green Bay got back on track in Week 7, with WR Davante Adams shredding Houston with 13 catches for 196 yards and a touchdown. Analysis: It was the best defensive performance of the season for Minnesota with three sacks and one takeaway, though given its previous performance that isn't saying much. Week 5 presents a much more daunting matchup, as QB Russell Wilson is leading the second highest-scoring offense (35.5 PPG) in the league. Analysis: Minnesota had two sacks and one takeaway during the contest but provided little else of consequence. It was one of the worst defensive performances the team has seen under coach Mike Zimmer, and is a worrying sign given the inexperience at cornerback. The Vikings will have a divisional matchup with the Packers at home in Sunday's season opener.
Analysis: Minnesota should put forth another good defense in 2020, but Week 1 won't present an appetizing matchup. QB Aaron Rodgers and the Packers didn't have an overly explosive offense in 2019 as it ranked 18th in total offense (345.5 YPG) and 15th in scoring (23.5 PPG), but they still had fantastic ball security with only 13 giveaways (second). The regular-season finale versus Chicago presents a much better matchup, as it has scored only 16 points over the last two games. The Vikings D/ST is a solid option with a good floor for Week 17.
