Big effort in Week 17
Carr completed 24 of 38 passes for 371 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions in Sunday's 32-31 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: The 29-year-old finished the season on a very impressive run, topping 300 yards in four of his last five starts (and not getting a chance to reach the mark in the fifth due to a second-quarter groin injury). Carr compiled his third consecutive 4,000-yard campaign as a result while setting a new career high with 4,103, and while the Raiders could get out of the final two seasons on his current contract fairly easily, his big final month makes it almost certain he'll be back under center for Las…read more

Late-game heroics fall short
Carr completed 21 of 34 pass attempts for 336 yards, throwing one touchdown and no interceptions while adding a rushing score and minus-two yards on a pair of carries during Saturday's 26-25 loss to Miami.
Analysis: The three-time Pro Bowler fought through a groin injury sustained during last Thursday's overtime loss to the Chargers to remain without a missed start on the season. Carr helped lead the Raiders to a would-be game-winning field goal in the final 20 seconds of regulation Saturday by way of a seven-play, 71-yard drive. However, Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Dolphins were able to respond with a field goal-yielding possession of their own to secure the Week 16 win. Carr carries a 25:7 TD:INT into the…read more

Set to start Week 16
Carr is expected to start at quarterback in Saturday's game against the Dolphins, Eddie Paskal of the Raiders' official site reports.
Analysis: Head coach Jon Gruden didn't confirm whether Carr or Marcus Mariota would start under center prior to the game. Carr led the team out of the tunnel following warmups, indicating that he'll start for the 15th time this year.

Active Week 16
Carr (groin) is active for Saturday's game versus the Dolphins.
Analysis: Carr seemed poised to miss time when he pulled up on a run during Week 15 action against the Chargers and was unable to return. Fortunately for Carr, that contest occurred on a Thursday, giving him more than a week to get back to full health. He proceeded to practice in full Wednesday and Thursday, but coach Jon Gruden wouldn't confirm who among Carr or Marcus Mariota would start Week 16. Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reported that Carr threw passes first during warmups, but it remains unclear if…read more

Off injury report
Carr (groin) doesn't carry an injury designation for Saturday night's game against the Dolphins after practicing fully Wednesday and Thursday.
Analysis: While that suggests Carr is good to go this weekend, Vic Tafur of The Athletic notes that a decision on who will start at QB for the Raiders has yet to be revealed by coach Jon Gruden, who is "optimistic" that Carr will be ready Saturday but isn't "going to let the cat out of the bag," adding that "both (Carr and Marcus Mariota) have prepared to play."

Resumes practicing fully
Carr (groin) was a full participant in practice Wednesday.
Analysis: Just under a week after suffering what was believed to be a significant groin injury in Las Vegas' 30-27 overtime loss to the Chargers, Carr's ability to take every rep in practice is a surprising development, but a welcome one for the playoff-hopeful Raiders. Assuming he experiences no setbacks at Thursday's workout, Carr looks like he'll be in the clear to start Saturday against the Dolphins. Marcus Mariota would be the next man up at quarterback if the Raiders have any reservations about…read more

Begins week with limited practice
Carr (groin) practiced on a limited basis Tuesday, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: Carr sustained a significant groin strain in the Raiders' Week 15 loss to the Chargers, leaving his availability in question for Saturday's game against the Dolphins. The quarterback's ability to take some reps in the team's first practice of the week can be taken as a positive sign, but head coach Jon Gruden was unwilling to rule on Carr's status for Saturday this early in the week. If Carr can't gain clearance for the Week 16 matchup, Marcus Mariota would be in store for his first start of…read more

Looking unlikely for Week 16
Carr is expected to face a 10-to-14-day recovery timeline after suffering a "significant groin injury" Thursday in the Raiders' 30-27 overtime loss to the Chargers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: The Raiders will have from a longer turnaround for their Week 16 game, but given the timeline provided by Rapoport, Carr looks hard-pressed to make it back for the team's Dec. 26 matchup with the Dolphins. That said, Carr will likely do everything in his power to try and play through the painful injury, so his status will need to be monitored next week when the Raiders reconvene for practice. At this stage, Marcus Mariota is a likelier candidate than Carr for the Week 16 starting nod.

Injury significant, but not tear
Coach Jon Gruden said after Thursday's 30-27 overtime loss to the Chargers that Carr's groin injury is "significant" but not a tear, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: That would seem to rule out a worst-case scenario for Carr, who pulled up awkwardly early in the first half due to a non-contact groin injury. Marcus Mariota filled in admirably in emergency duty, throwing for 226 yards with a touchdown while also setting a franchise record at the QB position with 88 rushing yards and another TD. However, Mariota also threw a gut-wrenching interception near the Chargers' end zone with less than two minutes on the clock. Carr will benefit from a few extra days…read more

Won't return Thursday
Carr (groin) is ruled out to return to Thursday's game against the Chargers.
Analysis: Carr was ruled out just as the second quarter began, which paves the way for Marcus Mariota to conclude Thursday's contest under center. He only had a chance to complete three of five passes for 53 yards before being forced out with a non-contact groin injury. Carr will benefit from a bit of extra time to get healthy ahead of the Raiders' Dec. 26 tilt against the Dolphins.

Limps off Thursday
Carr (groin) limped off the field and into the locker room in the first quarter of Thursday's game against the Chargers, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: Carr pulled up awkwardly while scrambling near the goal line on a third down play, evidently suffering a non-contact groin injury. He's officially questionable to return. Marcus Mariota will helm Las Vegas' offense if Carr isn't able to return for the next offensive series.

Accounts for three TDs vs. Colts
Carr connected on 31 of 45 attempts for 316 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions Sunday against the Colts. He also carried three times for 12 yards and a touchdown in the 44-27 loss.
Analysis: Carr completed an impressive 69 percent of his passes and delivered his third-best yardage total of the season against an excellent Colts defense. He connected on touchdown passes to Foster Moreau and Nelson Agholor before adding a rushing score of his own, but his interception before halftime led to a field goal, and his pick-six in the fourth quarter all but guaranteed his team the loss. Carves up Jets in wild win
Carr completed 28 of 47 passes for 381 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets. He added five yards and a touchdown on two rushing attempts.
Analysis: Carr was intercepted on Vegas' first drive but bounced back with touchdowns of nine and 38 yards to Darren Waller to take a 17-13 lead into the locker room. The quarterback took matters into his own hands with a two-yard rushing score for a 24-13 lead in the third quarter, but the Jets took over from there and had Vegas on the ropes until Carr dropped in the game-winning 46-yard touchdown to Henry Ruggs with five seconds left. Fumbles galore in Week 12 loss
Carr completed 22 of 34 pass attempts for 215 yards, throwing no touchdowns and committing one interception during Sunday's 43-6 loss to the Falcons. He also fumbled three times, losing all three to the opposition.
Analysis: It was a disastrous day for Carr, with his third-quarter interception to Deion Jones going for a 67-yard pick-six. The quarterback's three fumbles resulted in a combined 13 points for Atlanta, and he was unable to muster a passing TD for the second time over his past three outings. Steps it up on SNF
Carr completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 275 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-31 loss to Kansas City.
Analysis: Carr resumed his early-season success after a rough three-week stretch that saw the signal caller average just 143.3 yards per game and a mediocre mark of 6.0 yards per attempt. The seven-year pro has shown that he still can play above league average when the game script asks him to make plays down the field. Attempts reduced in blowout win
Carr completed 16 of 25 attempts for 154 passing yards, throwing no touchdowns and no interceptions during Sunday's 37-12 win against the Broncos. He also logged 10 rushing yards on four carries.
Analysis: Las Vegas' ground attack was working in full effect during a dominant divisional win, generating 5.0 yards per carry and punching in four scores. With a multi-possession lead in place throughout the fourth quarter, Carr's passing volume was reduced for a third consecutive outing. The three-time Pro Bowler attempted 25 or fewer passes Weeks 8, 9 and 10, with each outing resulting in a Las Vegas win (and two coming by double digits). Tosses two TDs in Sunday's win
Carr completed 13 of 23 passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-26 win over the Chargers. He also gained 14 rushing yards on two carries.
Analysis: It's the second straight game in which Carr has thrown for under 200 yards, but the sixth time in eight starts he's tossed multiple TDs. With the Raiders beginning to lean heavily on Josh Jacobs and the running game, Carr might have more low-volume afternoons ahead, but Week 10's clash with a Broncos defense that's been stingier on the ground than through the air could give him a chance to post better numbers.

Manages Raiders to Week 8 win
Carr completed 15 of 24 pass attempts for 112 yards and one touchdown, adding six rushes for 41 yards during Sunday's 16-6 win against the Browns.
Analysis: Carr was held to one or fewer passing touchdowns for the first time since Week 1, but he has Las Vegas situated at 4-3 with a second win over the team's past three contests. The 29-year-old has struggled with fumbles thus far in 2020 (four lost), but a key reason the Raiders are winning is that Carr has limited his interceptions. The three-time Pro Bowler has thrown to a sterling 14:2 TD:INT this season while completing an uber-efficient 71.1 percent of his passes. A Week 9 AFC West matchup…read more

Carr completed 24 of 36 passes for 284 yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 45-20 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday. He also rushed twice for 19 yards and fumbled once, but it was recovered by the offense.
Analysis: Carr and the Raiders appeared to be on their way to a prolific afternoon after the veteran quarterback hit Nelson Agholor with a perfect 20-yard scoring strike on a post pattern early in the first quarter. However, Carr was able to lead only one other first-half scoring march -- one that culminated in a 42-yard field goal -- and added just a one-yard scoring toss to Darren Waller the rest of the way as far as fantasy impact plays are concerned. Stellar in upset win
Carr completed 22 of 31 passes for 347 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 40-32 win over the Chiefs on Sunday. He also rushed for one yard on four carries.
Analysis: Carr authored what is arguably the season's biggest upset thus far, as he played one of his best games yet in his two-plus seasons under the tutelage of coach Jon Gruden. The veteran signal-caller displayed excellent command of the offense while connecting with 10 different pass catchers on the afternoon. Good showing against Bills
Carr completed 32 of 44 passes for 311 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 30-23 loss to the Bills. He also gained 20 yards on four carries.
Analysis: It took a lot of volume to get there, but Carr put together another strong performance as he attempted to keep pace with Josh Allen, posting a season high in passing yards while completing better than 72 percent of his passes for a fourth straight game. Carr could be headed for another shootout in Week 5 as the Raiders head to Kansas City to take on Patrick Mahomes and the defending champs.

Accurate as targets battle injuries
Carr completed 24 of 32 passes for 261 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots. He also rushed twice for 10 yards and lost two fumbles.
Analysis: Carr couldn't get anything going for most of the first half until taking over with 34 seconds left in the second quarter and proceeding to lead a five-play touchdown drive capped with a one-yard score to Foster Moreau. Vegas moved the ball better in the second half, but Carr couldn't find the end zone until hooking up with Hunter Renfrow from 13 yards out to complete the scoring. Carr completed 28 of 38 passes for 282 yards and three touchdowns in Monday night's 34-24 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Carr got off to a slow start, but he and the Raiders offense found their rhythm into the second quarter. The signal-caller built up a streak of completions and was particularly sharp on third downs, with his first two touchdowns coming then. Carr upped the ante for his third score, tossing a one-yarder on fourth-and-goal to start the second half and give Las Vegas the lead. Analysis: Carr just missed a long touchdown when he found Henry Ruggs wide open down the field for a 45-yard gain that ended one yard shy of the end zone in the first quarter. He delivered another beautiful pass for a 23-yard score to Nelson Agholor just before halftime. Locked in for Week 1
Carr has looked sharp throughout training camp, with no hint of Marcus Mariota making a push for the starting job, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Carr established career highs in a slew of passing categories last year, but the Raiders missed out on the playoffs for a fifth time in his six pro seasons, with their offense struggling in the red zone (52.8 TD percentage - 22nd) and their defense struggling in every area of the field. Analysis: Mariota became the NFL's highest-paid backup quarterback after inking a two-year, $17.6 million contract with $7.5 million guaranteed in free agency, a deal that sparked rumors about a potential job battle. It's worth noting that Carr has a much larger contract, one that would allow the Raiders to clear out as much as $16.1 million in cap space if he's traded or released this offseason, per OverTheCap.com. Carr completed 29 of 46 passes for 391 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 16-15 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: Carr put up a ton of yards on Denver's top-10 rated pass defense, but the Raiders struggled in the red zone early, having to settle for field-goal tries and getting stuffed at the goal line on a second-quarter possession. Carr completed 26 of 30 passes for 291 yards and a touchdown in the team's Week 16 win over the Chargers. He added three yards and a score on the ground.
Analysis: Carr did his damage early, leading the Raiders to a 14-7 lead at halftime. He recorded his only touchdown through the air on the team's first drive, connecting with Hunter Renfrow on a short pass that turned into a 56-yard score. Later, on the team's final drive of the first half, Carr capped an 11 play, 75-yard drive with a three-yard scamper into the end zone. Carr completed 22 of 36 passes for 267 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 20-16 loss to the Jaguars.
Analysis: The Raiders seemed to have things well in hand when they took a 16-3 lead into halftime, but Carr couldn't get anything going in the second half as the team ultimately lost its final game in Oakland. The passing yards were actually his highest total since Week 11, and Carr could struggle to be even that productive in next Sunday's road game against a Chargers' defense that held him to 218 yards and one TD in their prior meeting this season.

Throws two TD passes
Carr completed 25 of 34 pass attempts for 263 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Titans. He also carried twice for 17 yards in the 42-21 loss.
Analysis: Carr had an excellent first half, leading his team on three touchdown drives to keep pace with Tennessee. He did so in unconventional fashion, completing touchdown passes to Rico Gafford and Foster Moreau. While he finished with a shiny 73.5 percent completion rate and avoided turning the ball over, he wasn't nearly as effective in the second half. Falls flat against Chiefs
Carr completed 20 of 30 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions in Sunday's 40-9 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: One of the two picks was returned for a TD by Juan Thornhill, so Carr produced as many points for the opposition as he did for his own team. After a strong start to the season, the 28-year-old QB has a 3:4 TD:INT over the last four games, failing to top 230 passing yards in three of them, and his regression has cost the Raiders a chance to claim the top spot in the AFC West. Carr completed 15 of 27 passes for 127 yards and an interception in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Jets. He also rushed once for 11 yards prior to being removed in the third quarter.

This dud stunts the momentum Carr had built up with 285-plus yards in four of the previous five games, along with a 9:2 TD:INT over those five games. Analysis: Carr was quite effective as a passer, completing 86 percent of his passes while averaging an impressive 10.1 yards per attempt. Solid, mistake-free in win
Carr completed 21 of 31 passes for 218 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions in the Raiders' 26-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday. He also rushed once for four yards.
Analysis: Carr did an exemplary job managing the game, and he recorded a touchdown pass for the fourth straight contest when he connected on a nine-yard toss to Alec Ingold as the first half wound down. He then helped lead a pivotal and game-winning 10-play, 75-yard drive late in the fourth quarter that culminated in an 18-yard Josh Jacobs touchdown run.
