Staying in Atlanta
The Falcons and Koo agreed to terms on a five-year, $24.25 million contract Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: After a rough start to his career with the Chargers in 2017 -- he made just three of six field-goal attempts and was cut after four games -- Koo was out of the NFL until the Falcons brought him on October 2019. Since then, he's been a modicum of consistency, striking true on 87 of 94 field-goal attempts and 78 of 82 point-after tries in 40 games. Instead of becoming a restricted free agent, Koo will stick in Atlanta for the foreseeable future.

Doesn't miss in season finale
Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-20 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Koo showed off his range, capping off the Falcons' first two offensive drives with field goals from 48 and 54 yards out. If there was ever a knock on the fourth-year kicker, it was his lack of consistency from 40-yards and beyond, but he put those notions to rest with two impressive kicks to end his 2021 campaign. Koo finished the season 27-for-29 (93 percent) and a perfect 30-for-30 on extra points. He signed a one-year contract with the Falcons ahead of the 2021 season, so he's set to become…read more

Perfect once again
Koo connected on both of his field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try during Sunday's 29-15 loss to the Bills.
Analysis: Koo capped off a 10-play, 65-yard drive with a 28-yard chip shot to the cut the Bills' lead to 14-5 with 10 minutes left to go in the second quarter. He also added a 24-yarder as time expired in the first half to give the Falcons a 15-14 lead going into halftime. Snowy conditions and Atlanta's sporadic offense once again diminished Koo's fantasy potential, but he hasn't missed a kick since Week 11 and remains one of the most accurate and reliable kickers in the league.

Another perfect outing
Koo connected on both of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 20-16 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Koo capped off a seven-play, 43-yard drive with a 53-yard field goal that tied the game at 10 with just over a minute left in the first half. It was Koo's first 50-plus yard make since Week 8, and he's now 3-for-4 on the season from 50 yards and beyond. Koo also connected on a 48-yard attempt to give the Falcons a 13-10 lead after their first drive of the second half. Koo continues to be one of the most reliable and accurate kickers in the league. Doesn't miss in loss
Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and connected on his only extra-point during Sunday's 31-13 loss to the 49ers.
Analysis: Koo opened the scoring with a 48-yard field goal on the Falcons' second offensive drive of the game. In the third quarter, Atlanta's nine-play, 71-yard drive culminated in a 22-yard attempt for Koo that cut the 49ers lead to 24-13. From inside of 50 yards this season, Koo is 46-for-47 (21-22 FGs, 25-25 PATs). The fourth-year pro remains one of the most reliable and efficient kickers in the league, but Atlanta's sporadic offense continues to diminish his fantasy potential.

Perfect once again
Koo made all three of his field-goal attempts and both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 29-21 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: After nailing his first two extra points, Koo gave the Falcons a 17-7 lead in the second quarter by connecting on a 32-yard field-goal attempt. He then capped off Atlanta's nine-play, 55-yard drive to start the second half with a 38-yard field goal. Two offensive possessions later, Koo expanded the lead to 29-14 by making a 48-yarder with six minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Doesn't miss in Week 13
Koo connected on his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra points during Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Koo finished off a 15-play, 72-yard drive with a 21-yard field goal to cut Tampa Bay's lead to 13-10 in the second quarter. The 27-year-old continues to be one of the most efficient kickers in the league this season -- 16-for-18 on FGs (12-12 from inside 40 yards) and 22-for-22 on PATs. However, his fantasy potential remains hindered by the Falcons' inability to move the ball. Over his last four games, Koo has attempted just three field goals and five extra points. No field-goal attempts in Week 12
Koo didn't attempt a field goal, but he made all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 21-14 win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Koo didn't have an opportunity to redeem himself from his 50-yard miss during Week 11's shutout loss to the Patriots. However, he did connect on all three of his PATs, which kept him a perfect 20-for-20 on the season. Despite Koo's consistent accuracy, his fantasy production remains limited due to sporadic opportunities from Atlanta's offense.

Misses only attempt in shutout loss
Koo missed his only field-goal attempt during Thursday's 25-0 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: After the Patriots scored a touchdown to take a 10-0 lead at the start of the second quarter, the Falcons marched into field-goal range thanks to a 14-play drive. Koo connected on the 45-yard attempt, but it was nullified by a holding call. On the ensuing 50-yarder, Koo's kick narrowly missed the upright as it curved wide left. Connects on only attempt Sunday
Koo connected on his only field-goal attempt during Sunday's 43-3 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: Koo opened the scoring for the Falcons by connecting on a 35-yard field-goal attempt during Atlanta's first offensive possession. However, he remained on the sideline for the remainder of the contest, as the Cowboys continued to build their lead. Koo has missed only one kick this season, but his fantasy production remains limited by Atlanta's sporadic offense.

Back on track in Week 9
Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra points during Sunday's 27-25 win over the Saints.
Analysis: Koo bounced back with another perfect outing after missing his first field-goal attempt of the season last week. The 27-year-old opened the scoring Sunday with a 32-yard field goal on the Falcons' second drive of the game, and then he was only summoned for extra points until the last possession of the contest. Misses first field goal of season
Koo made two of his three field-goal attempts and his only extra point during the Falcons' 19-13 loss to the Panthers on Sunday.
Analysis: Koo opened the scoring by connecting on a 46-yard field goal that was set up by a Chuba Hubbard fumble on the first play of the game. However, Koo missed his next attempt -- another 46-yarder -- wide right. The miss was his first of the season, but the 27-year-old was able to bounce back to connect on a 53-yard attempt with 16 seconds left in the game. Another game-winning kick
Koo made all three of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 30-28 win over the Dolphins.
Analysis: Koo has yet to miss this season, as he is a perfect 10-for-10 on field-goal attempts and 13-for-13 on extra-point tries. The 27-year-old also now has two game-winning kicks as time expires on the season. While his production was limited by Atlanta's offense to start the season, the Falcons have now scored 30, 27 and 30 points in their last three contests, which has directly increased Koo's production. Koo made both of his field-goal attempts and all three of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 27-20 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Koo opened the scoring by capping off the Falcons' first drive with a 31-yard field goal. The 27-year-old continued his dominant start to the season by connecting on a 51-yard attempt -- his first field goal over 50 yards this year -- as time expired in the first half. Remains perfect through Week 4
Koo made his only field-goal attempt and all three of his extra points during Sunday's 34-30 loss to Washington.
Analysis: Koo has yet to miss this season, as he is a perfect 5-for-5 on field goals and 7-for-7 on extra points. The 27-year-old's hot start shouldn't be surprising as he made well over 90 percent of his kicks last year. However, his fantasy production remains limited due to Atlanta's sporadic offense.

Sinks game-winning kick
Koo made his only field-goal attempt and both of his extra points during Sunday's 17-14 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Koo stayed perfect on the season as he sank a 40-yard game-winning kick as time expired. The 27-year-old's upside remains limited by a stagnant Falcons offense, but his efficiency certainly qualifies him as a quality fantasy option. Koo attempted 39 field goals through 15 games last year and is on pace for approximately 23 this year. If Atlanta can give him more opportunities, his value will increase exponentially.

Stays perfect on young season
Koo connected on a 36-yard field-goal attempt and made both of his PAT attempts in Sunday's 48-25 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Atlanta went for two after its final touchdown to make it a three-point game late in the third quarter before the Buccaneers pulled away with three unanswered touchdowns in the fourth. Koo's off to a 3-for-3 start on field goals through two weeks and should continue to make the most of the opportunities that should stem from his role on a Falcons team that figures to be involved in plenty of high-scoring games.

Goes 2-for-2 in season opener
Koo connected on both of his field-goal attempts in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The Falcons started off Week 1 with back-to-back red zone appearances on their first two drives. However, the offense stalled inside the 10-yard line both times, allowing Koo to sink two chip shots. Staying with Atlanta
Koo has re-signed with the Falcons, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Although he's been in the NFL since 2017, the 26-year-old kicker only has two accrued seasons, which means he won't become a restricted free agent until spring 2022. Koo finished 2020 as the league leader in field goals made (37), notably going 8-of-8 from 50-plus yards out. He should be drafted in any league that uses kickers.

Likely staying with Falcons
Koo will be an exclusive-rights free agent this offseason, which "practically guarantees" he'll be back with the Falcons for 2021, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Players who reach the end of their contracts with less than three accrued seasons in the NFL become ERFAs. These players don't actually have any negotiating power, as they can only play for their original team, so long as the team tenders them a minimum salary. Koo's impressive performance the past two years ensures he'll get that tender, unless he receives a long-term extension first. Either way, he figures to be Atlanta's kicker in 2021, hoping to build on a 2020 campaign in which he…read more

Closes season with 5-for-5 effort
Koo converted on field-goal tries of 22 and 21 yards while making all three of his point-after attempts during Sunday's 44-27 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: Koo's most notable gaffe of the campaign came Week 16 when he missed a potential game-tying field goal of 39 yards in the waning seconds of a loss to the Chiefs. Otherwise, the 26-year-old enjoyed a sterling 2020 season, tying for the league lead in scoring (144 points) while earning his first career Pro Bowl nod. Misses vital late-game kick
Koo made both of his extra-point tries but missed on a potential game-tying 39-yard field-goal attempt with 14 seconds remaining in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Koo pushed the crunch-time kick wide right, continuing a season of frequent late-game heartbreak for the Falcons faithful. The 26-year-old had missed only one of 36 field-goal attempts this season coming into Week 16, composing a perfect 8-for-8 mark on kicks of 50 yards or more. Koo's 30-for-33 rate on extra-point attempts demonstrates a potential blind spot in his game at the short-to-intermediate level, and unfortunately for Atlanta, that reality reared its ugly head Sunday afternoon.

Keeps conversion streak alive
Koo made both of his field-goal attempts while going 3-for-3 on point-after tries during Sunday's 31-27 loss to Tampa Bay.
Analysis: The Georgia Southern product continues a tremendous streak of play by virtue of his Week 15 performance, as Koo is now a perfect 30-for-30 on field goals and extra points over his past six outings. Koo boasts a sterling conversion rate of 97.2 percent on 36 field-goal tries for the season, though his 90.3 percent PAT rate is a work in progress. Flawless against ex-team
Koo made his lone field-goal attempt of 45 yards, also converting both of his extra-point tries during Sunday's 20-17 loss to the Chargers.
Analysis: Taking on the team that cut him following a four-game stint in 2017, Koo demonstrated the consistency that has since transformed him into a Pro Bowl-caliber kicker. The 26-year-old reached an incredible 33-for-34 mark on field goals with his Week 14 performance, also pushing his PAT conversion rate above 90 percent for the first time all season. Koo went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts while converting his lone point-after try during Sunday's 21-16 loss to New Orleans.

Koo's deep-range success persists, with his first-quarter conversion from 53 yards out placing him at a perfect 7-for-7 on 50-plus-yard attempts this season. Koo has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Koo went a perfect 10-for-10 on field-goal tries and 8-for-8 on extra-point attempts over three November appearances. The 26-year-old has posted a sterling 96.7 percent overall conversion rate on field goals this season, while his 109 points represent an NFL high. Koo (quadriceps) turned in a full practice Thursday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.
Analysis: Koo was a limited participant Wednesday while he nursed a right quad injury, but his ability to take every rep in practice a day later puts him on track to retain kicking duties for the Falcons in Sunday's game versus the Saints. The 26-year-old has actually been more accurate on field-goal attempts than extra-point tries this season, going 29 for 30 and 22 for 25 in those respective situations.

Koo (quadriceps) was limited in practice Wednesday, Will McFadden of the Falcons' official site reports.

In fact, the 26-year-old has established himself a buffer in that category, compiling 1.8 more points per game than any other NFL kicker with a minimum of three appearances this year. Analysis: During a game in which Atlanta made just one trip to New Orleans' red zone, Koo provided all nine of the Falcons' points, succeeding on attempts from 28, 51 and 52 yards out. With his incredible 96 percent hit rate on field-goal tries, the 26-year-old leads the NFL with 24 conversions despite missing one game this season. Koo is expected to miss time due to the groin strain he played through during Sunday's 30-26 loss to the Bears, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Koo managed to tough out his injury Sunday loss, but he wasn't able to handle kickoff duties and also missed one field-goal try and an extra-point attempt. Depending on the severity of the issue, the Falcons could consider placing Koo on IR for a minimum of three weeks. Cameron Nizialek is a candidate to be promoted from the practice squad, though Atlanta could also opt to delve into the free-agent kicker market.

Plays through leg strain
Koo suffered a leg strain prior to Sunday's game against the Bears, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Koo's injury explains why he didn't handle kickoff duties Sunday. The 26-year-old also had a pair of misses during the loss to Chicago, as he converted two of three field-goal tries and two of three extra-point attempts. He'll look to get fully healthy before Week 4's game against the Packers on Monday Night Football rolls around.

Knocks down seven kicks
Koo went 4-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on point-after tries during Sunday's 40-39 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: One week after Koo converted on his third onside kick attempt in as many tries, Dallas' Greg Zuerlein executed a successful onsider of his own, kick-rolling a ball slowly to the 10-yard threshold and enabling C.J. Goodwin to pounce on the loose ball as soon as he became eligible to do so. Koo wasn't granted the opportunity to execute any special-teams miracles during the Week 2 loss, though he was flawless on his seven combined field goal and PATs. He is now 29-for-32 on field-goal tries in his…read more

Onside-kick master delivers again
Koo went 2-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 1-for-2 on extra points during Sunday's 38-25 loss to the Seahawks. He also delivered a successful onside kick during the final minute of regulation.
Analysis: Koo now has two missed PATs on nine attempts since Week 16 of last year, but he did deliver on yet another onside kick conversion in the season opener. The 26-year-old provided two successful onside kicks Nov. 28, but Atlanta came up just short of its second 2019 upset of New Orleans, and again Sunday his late-game heroics proved insufficient. Though the Falcons have dropped a third consecutive Week 1 game, Koo has at least converted on 13 of his past 14 field-goal tries.

Camp performance so far sufficient
Coach Dan Quinn said that there is no firm plan to bring in a second kicker to compete with Koo during training camp, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Quinn conceded that during a season played amidst a pandemic, it's especially crucial to have a contingency plan at every position. The coach mentioned that the Falcons may conduct workouts to "see where we're at" in terms of the kicker and punter positions, but he also stated that the team has been satisfied with Koo's performance thus far in camp. Koo put forth a solid showing during his debut campaign as Atlanta's place kicker in 2019, going 23-for-26 on field-goal attempts and 15-for-16 on…read more

Expected to face competition
Coach Dan Quinn said that the Falcons are hoping to add some competition for Koo at the kicker position, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: While in-person workouts remain inconceivable for the time being, Koo is still going to have to prove himself during the lead-up to the regular season. The 25-year-old is currently the only kicker on the depth chart, but Quinn has remained adamant throughout the offseason that he is seeking competition at the position. Though Koo knocked down an impressive 23 of 26 field goals during his debut campaign in Atlanta, Quinn is wary of anointing his starter prematurely. Giorgio Tavecchio entered…read more

Signs one-year extension
Koo signed a one-year contract extension with the Falcons on Tuesday, Will McFadden of the team's official site reports.
Analysis: Koo was set to be an exclusive-rights free agent in March, but the team bypassed that and locked him down to a "prove-it" contract. Koo took over as the Falcons' starting kicker in 2019 after the team cut veteran Matt Bryant midseason. The 25-year-old Koo performed admirably, connecting on 23 of 26 field goals (88 percent) and hitting 15 of 16 extra points over eight games.

Likely to be tendered by Atlanta
Koo is expected to be brought back by the Falcons on a one-year tender, Jason Butt of the Athletic reports.
Analysis: The 25-year-old kicker is set to become an exclusive-rights free agent upon the dawn of the new league year, but Atlanta wants to bring him back after he went 23-for-26 on field goals and 15-for-16 on extra points during his first campaign with the team. Coach Dan Quinn has made it clear, however, that unlike last year there is expected to be competition for the starting kicker job throughout the offseason. Wraps up 2019 with stellar showing
Koo went 5-for-5 on field-goal attempts, while sinking his lone point-after try during Sunday's 28-22 overtime win against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Across eight games as Atlanta's placekicker, Koo established a proficient 88.5 percent conversion rate on field goals as well as a 15-for-16 mark on PATs. Koo got off to a shaky start to his Falcons career by missing three of his first 12 tries from the field, but he steadied out and was able to convert on 14 consecutive kicks to close out 2019. In addition to his improved accuracy, Koo also provided the unique benefit of being an effective onside kicker, successfully converting two onside…read more

Misses another kick
Koo went 1-for-2 on field-goal attempts and 3-for-3 on PATs during Sunday's 24-12 win against the Jaguars.
Analysis: The 25-year-old may be the most accomplished onside kicker of the 2019 NFL season, while he's gone 82.4 percent on field goals since Week 11. Upcoming next is a promising opportunity for Koo if he can level out his consistency, with Atlanta taking on a Buccaneers team that ranks tied for 32nd in the NFL with 2.5 field-goal attempts allowed per game.

Puts in full workout
Koo (foot) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Koo was limited in Wednesday's session with a left foot injury, but his upgrade to full activity Thursday clears the way for him to handle kicking duties for Atlanta in Sunday's game against the Jaguars. Since signing with the team in late October, Koo has hit 17 of 19 field-goal tries and 11 of 12 extra-point attempts in six games.

Dealing with left foot injury
Koo (left foot) was limited in Wednesday's practice, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Analysis: Koo has been excellent for the Falcons this season, connecting on 17 of 19 field goals (89 percent), including six of seven from beyond 40 yards. The 24-year-old is perhaps the most effective kicker in the league at onside kicks as well. Koo is dealing with an injury to his plant foot, though, so it'll be important to keep an eye on his practice status this week as well as whether the Falcons bring in kickers for workouts or sign one to the practice squad.

Onside kick called off by penalty
Koo made his lone field-goal attempt from 43 yards out and went 2-for-2 on point-after tries during Sunday's 29-22 win against the 49ers.
Analysis: The trick shot specialist converted yet another successful onside kick Week 15 against San Francisco, but the play was waved off by an illegal formation penalty. The reigning Special Teams Player of the Week pooched a beautiful bouncing kickoff attempt into the arms of Foyesade Oluokun, as Atlanta benefited from the element of surprise in recovering an onside kick to open up the second half, but after the five-yard penalty was enforced, Atlanta elected to boot it deep. Racks up 16 points, recovers fumble
Koo went 4-for-4 on field-goal tries and 4-for-4 on extra points during Sunday's 40-20 win against Carolina.
Analysis: Koo regained hold of the Falcons' starting kicker job with a strong Week 14 performance, after enduring a shaky stretch between Weeks 11 and 13 in which he missed two extra points and a field goal. Since missing those three kicks, Koo has gone 10-for-10 on field goal and PATS, converted two onside kicks, and even recovered a fumble on a kickoff return Sunday -- scooping up a loose ball that Panthers return man Greg Dortch put on the ground in the third quarter. Koo doesn't seem like a prime…read more

Still locked in as kicker
Coach Dan Quinn said Friday that Koo will remain the Falcons' kicker, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Koo has missed three combined field-goal and extra-point tries over the last three contests, but he redeemed himself in some capacity by converting two onside kicks during Thursday's loss to the Saints. While the 25-year-old looks like he'll remain on the roster through the Week 14 game with the Panthers, he'll need to improve his accuracy to keep his spot for the remainder of the season.

Two onside kicks prove insufficient
Koo went 2-for-3 on field-goal attempts and 0-for-1 on extra-point tries during Thursday's 26-18 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: The entire NFL had succeeded on two onside kicks coming into Week 13. Koo himself converted on two straight in the waning moments of the fourth quarter Thanksgiving night -- not including a third that was erased by Falcons penalty -- though the miraculous recoveries were not enough to overcome his blunders earlier in the contest. Surely, Koo cannot solely shoulder the blame for the team's second straight defeat, but the four points he left on the board proved to be pivotal as Atlanta's late…read more

Perfect during Week 12 loss
Koo went 3-for-3 on field-goal attempts and converted on his lone extra-point try during Sunday's 35-22 loss to the Buccaneers.
Analysis: The former Chargers kicker has been extremely efficient in the early going of his Falcons career, knocking down 10 of 11 field goals and seven of seven PATs. During Sunday's inter-divisional showdown of sub-.500 clubs, Koo converted on field-goal tries of 25, 38 and 40 yards. While he's hit better than 90 percent of his attempts through three games, Koo has yet to be tested from 50-plus yards as Atlanta heads into a Thanksgiving night matchup against a Saints defense that ranks among the top 10…read more

Scores 11 points in Week 11 win
Koo went 3-for-4 on field-goal attempts and 2-for-2 on extra points during Sunday's 29-3 win against the Panthers.
Analysis: Koo missed his first career field goal as a Falcon, but with Atlanta having won two straight games and the kicker perfect on his other seven tries, many backers of the team are likely to shrug off the failed 38-yard attempt. Though the Falcons' 26-point margin of victory masked the error somewhat, the reliability of the kicking game will be paramount if Atlanta is to go on a six-game run and give itself any chance whatsoever at the postseason. Upcoming next for Koo is a matchup against a…read more

Comes through in team debut
Koo drained all four of his field-goal attempts and went 2-for-2 on point-after tries during Sunday's 26-9 win against the Saints.
Analysis: With all the bad mojo that had afflicted the Falcons' kicker position through the first half of 2019, it took Koo donning the number of a franchise legend to break the slump. Wearing No. 7 in his debut for Atlanta, Koo converted on field-goal tries of 30, 36, 37 and 48 yards after Matt Bryant and Giorgio Tavecchio posted a collective 13-for-23 mark between exhibition and regular-season play.
