Out of sync with Josh Allen
Foster was targeted four times during Sunday's 24-17 loss to Baltimore but did not record a catch.
Analysis: Sunday's four targets marked a season high, but he and Josh Allen were unable to connect as Buffalo's offense was off-kilter for much of the game. Four of Foster's five touches this season have gone for at least 20 yards, highlighting his impressive big-play ability, but he isn't getting many opportunities. It's also worth noting that Isaiah McKenzie, who has been competing with Foster for the No. 3 WR job, finished with three catches on five targets Sunday. Next up is a matchup against…read more

Sees increased work
Foster caught one of two targets for 20 yards during Thursday's win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: The 25-year-old was considered questionable due to a hamstring injury but ended up playing 28 offensive snaps, his highest snap total of the season. Foster could see an increased role going forward, since he and Isaiah McKenzie split snaps as the Bills' No. 3 wide receiver in Dallas, per Sal Capaccio of WGR Sports Radio 550 Buffalo.

Suits ups Thursday
Foster (hamstring) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Cowboys, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Foster -- who has caught just two passes for 44 yards in eight games to date -- will give it a go Thursday, but he's off the fantasy radar these days, while slotting in behind John Brown, Cole Beasley and Isaiah McKenzie on the Bills' wide receiver depth chart.

Listed as questioanble
Foster (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the Cowboys.
Analysis: Foster is off the fantasy radar these days, with just two catches for 44 yards in eight games to date. The 25-year-old caught 27 passes for 541 yards and three scores in 13 games last season, but he won't have an opportunity to replicate those numbers while he currently slots in behind John Brown, Cole Beasley and Isaiah McKenzie on the Bills' depth chart.

Officially limited Tuesday
Foster (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Tuesday.
Analysis: Foster kicked off Week 13 prep as a DNP on Monday's estimated injury report, so his upgrade to some activity is a step in the right direction. He'll look to progress further Wednesday with an eye on suiting up for Thursday's game at Dallas. If he's unable to play, Andre Roberts and even Duke Williams would be in line for some work on offense.

Upgraded to limited
Foster (hamstring) is expected to practice on a limited basis Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: That's an improvement from his DNP on the practice estimation from Monday's walkthrough, following Foster's departure during Sunday's win over the Broncos. The fact that Foster's 1-24-0 line was his best total of the season tells you all you need to know about his value following last year's breakthrough rookie season, and the biggest fantasy implication his status for Thursday's game in Dallas would create is whether a potential absence would mean Duke Williams gets a chance to suit up again.

DNP on Monday's estimate
Foster (hamstring) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.
Analysis: Foster suffered a hamstring injury during Sunday's win over the Bengals, and it seems unlikely he recovers on a short week for Thursday's matchup against the Cowboys. It's been a disappointing season for the Alabama product, as he's fallen into the No. 4 wideout role, catching just two passes for 44 yards a season after compiling 27 for 541 and three scores.

Leaves Sunday's game
Foster (hamstring) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Analysis: Hamstring injuries are tough with receivers, but Foster could try to stretch it out and attempt a return. If he's unable to shake the injury, Andre Roberts and Isaiah McKenzie would be in line to see an increase in snaps.

Relegated to special teams
Foster did not log an offensive snap during Sunday's 37-20 win over Miami.
Analysis: Josh Allen had a career day against the Dolphins, but Foster had no hand in it after recording his first catch of the season in Week 10. In the seven games for which he has dressed, Sunday was the first time that Foster did not log at least seven offensive snaps. He shouldn't be on your fantasy radar, especially Sunday against Denver's top-five pass defense.

Nabs first catch of 2019
Foster caught a 20-yard pass on his only target of Sunday's 19-16 loss to Cleveland.
Analysis: Foster set up Buffalo's first touchdown of the game early in the second quarter, finding a soft spot in front of his defender and making a 20-yard catch to bring Buffalo into the red zone. It was the Alabama product's first catch of 2019, as he has struggled to find opportunities and has recorded just one game with multiple targets (Week 2 against the Giants). John Brown and Cole Beasley continue to dominate looks from Josh Allen with a target share of 44.0 percent between them. Foster doesn't…read more

Sees limited action
Foster suited up Sunday but only played seven snaps and did not catch his only target.
Analysis: Any hope Foster might get in on the game plan with No. 3 receiver Duke Williams being made a healthy inactive didn't come into fruition, and Foster is still looking for his first catch in 2019. The man that burst into the scene as an undrafted rookie to average 20.0 yards per catch sits at a big fat zero halfway through the season. Even though the Bills may continue to rotate Foster, Williams and Isaiah McKenzie into their last two receiving spots, none of them comes with any value unless John…read more

Outside of game plan
Foster was targeted once but didn't catch a pass in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.
Analysis: The second-year receiver is still looking for his first catch of the year after suiting up in four games and missing three others, simply awful production for a guy that came out of nowhere last season to post a 27-541-3 line in 13 games, especially when you consider Zay Jones recently got traded. Foster is at best the fourth WR option on the team, and with No. 5 Andre Roberts being a valuable return man, the former runs the risk of being benched again if the team wants to suit up Isaiah…read more

Returns to lineup in Week 8
Foster is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Analysis: Foster is back in the mix after being inactive last week, but how much action he sees Sunday likely hinges on how well No. 3 wide receiver Duke Williams holds up, given that the latter has been dealing with a shoulder injury.

Not part of Week 7 plan
Foster is inactive for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: While the second-year wideout has moved past his recent groin injury, first-year wideout Duke Williams has moved past Foster on the depth chart. Foster was a fantastic surprise as an undrafted rookie last season, finishing with a 27-544-3 line to go with an insane 20.0 yards per catch, but injuries and a lack of development have pushed him to the bottom of the depth chart, even with the recent trade of Zay Jones to Oakland.

Past groin injury
Foster (groin) practiced fully for the third straight day Friday and doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Now that he's past the injury, the question remains whether he'll suit up for Sunday's game against Miami, as Duke Williams appears to have earned a spot on the active roster. Andre Roberts won't sit either due to his return skills, so it looks like the final spot might come down to Foster or Isaiah Mckenzie, unless the team decides to take the rare step of suiting up six receivers.

Practicing fully
Foster, who missed the last two games with a groin injury, returned to a full practice Wednesday following the team's bye week, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: It looks like Foster will be healthy for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, though Duke Williams has seemingly passed him on the depth chart during Foster's absence. With six receivers in the corps, the Bills might choose to sit one player as a healthy inactive in Week 7.

Ruled out Week 5
Foster (groin) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Titans.
Analysis: Foster was questionable entering Sunday after being limited in Friday's practice session. This will be the second week in a row he's held out with the issue. Look for Andre Roberts and Zay Jones to see a few extra snaps with Foster out.

Deemed questionable for Week 5
Foster (groin) was limited in practice Friday and is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Analysis: After full showings Wednesday and Thursday, Foster looked poised to avoid a designation heading into the weekend, but he was downgraded after his reps were capped in the final practice of Week 5. If Foster suits up Sunday, he won't be in line for much more than a depth role at receiver after garnering only three total targets across the three games he's played this season.

Full speed ahead
Foster (groin) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Analysis: Foster sat out Week 4 with this injury, but he's in line to suit up Sunday versus the Titans. The second-year pro hasn't hauled in any of his three targets through three games, so his fantasy value is negligible unless that volume increases.

Won't play Sunday
Foster (groin) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Analysis: The 25-year-old popped up on the injury report late in the week and, as evidenced by this news, the injury is serious enough to force him to miss game action. With Foster sidelined, Andre Roberts and Isaiah McKenzie will be deployed as depth receivers for the contest.

Questionable for Week 4
Foster (groin) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's divisional game against the Patriots.
Analysis: Foster was limited in practice Thursday and Friday. The second-year pro has been held catchless through three games this season, so if he were to miss any time there wouldn't be a noticeable fantasy impact.

Added to injury report
Foster (groin) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Foster wasn't listed on Wednesday's report, so his groin issue appears to be a new development. The second-year wideout has yet to record a catch this season, so if Foster were forced to miss any time Buffalo's offense would likely emerge mostly unaffected.

Catchless through two games
Foster was targeted twice in Sunday's win over the Giants but did not haul in either and has now been shut out in both of the Bills' wins.
Analysis: Foster did see the field for 36 percent of the offensive snaps Sunday, but that's about the only decent news for a guy that had a breakthrough season in 2018. A toe injury prevented him from presenting any form of challenge for Zay Jones' starting spot this summer. He's pretty far behind Jones, John Brown and Cole Beasley in the pecking order, while Andre Roberts could even steal some depth looks when healthy. Survives cutdowns
Foster remains on the roster following Saturday's roster cuts.
Analysis: Perhaps Foster was never in serious danger following a breakout rookie campaign, but he had a poor summer and preseason and has been plagued by a toe injury, while a group of Isaiah McKenzie, Duke Williams and Ray-Ray McCloud had been coming on strong. In the end McKenzie and Foster made the team, along with no-doubters John Brown, Cole Beasley, Zay Jones and Andre Roberts. Gutting out toe injury
Coach Sean McDermott said Foster has been tending to a toe injury that he suffered during the offseason program, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The issue hasn't kept Foster off the field in training camp or preseason games. That said, he's been relegated to reserve units, totaling one catch (on four targets) for 14 yards in the first exhibition before being blanked on just 13 snaps on offense and 17 on special teams in the next two games. His inability to regain full health has taken a toll on his standing in the receiving corps, which is headed by John Brown, Cole Beasley and Zay Jones. Plays two snaps Friday
Foster (foot) played two snaps in the team's preseason win over the Lions on Friday.
Analysis: Two snaps is hardly a confident barometer when it comes to identifying Foster's Week 1 status, but considering there's been very little information regarding the speedy wideout's injured foot, it's fair to assume the 25-year-old is doing well enough to play. Despite a rookie season in which Foster emerged as a legitimate deep threat for quarterback Josh Allen, the Alabama alum simply hasn't produced enough in training camp to push John Brown, Cole Beasley or Zay Jones for a starting spot in…read more

Dealing with foot issue
Foster walked off the practice field Monday with his left foot wrapped in ice, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Foster's status for Friday's preseason game against the Lions will thus need to be monitored. The sooner the wideout gets back to the field, the better, though, given that Foster hasn't seemed to make a strong push for a starting slot thus far. For now, the team's top three receivers figure to be Zay Jones, John Brown and Cole Beasley.

Not taking big leap
Foster played mostly with the backups during Thursday's preseason opener against the Colts, catching one of four targets for 14 yards.
Analysis: Once thought to be a possibility for a starting job over Zay Jones, we haven't heard much from Foster during camp and he may even be getting threatened for depth chart positioning by veteran Andre Roberts, who's having a fine summer. Foster's emergence as a rookie and his deep-threat ability -- he averaged 20.0 yards per catch on 27 receptions last season -- probably keep him on the safe side of a roster decision, though he's pushing himself off the fantasy radar at this stage.

Working with backups
Foster is getting most of his snaps with the second-team offense, Mike Catalana of 13WHAM ABC Rochester reports.
Analysis: The good news? Foster seems to be back at full strength after missing part of June minicamp with a foot injury. The bad news? He's mostly working with the second unit while John Brown, Zay Jones and Cole Beasley handle the first-team work with Josh Allen. The second-year wideout remains an important part of the Buffalo offense as a deep threat, but his snaps may be limited if everyone else stays healthy. A strong summer might allow Foster to challenge Jones for regular playing time.

Expected back for camp
Foster (foot) should be a full go for the start of training camp, Nate Mendelson of the Bills' official website reports.
Analysis: Foster missed part of June minicamp with a foot injury, but competition for snaps is his larger concern after the Bills signed John Brown and Cole Beasley (abdomen) during the offseason. With Zay Jones (undisclosed) also still around, the team has four wide receivers that can make a decent case for regular playing time.

Sitting out Tuesday's practice
Foster has a foot injury and will not practice Tuesday, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
Analysis: Coach Sean McDermott doesn't think it's a long-term issue for the second-year wideout, who will be jockeying for a depth position all summer. John Brown, Zay Jones and Cole Beasley all appear to be ahead of him in the early order, while Foster appears to be ahead of a slew of other guys following a surprising rookie season, where he ultimately ended up starting for the injury-depleted Bills as an undrafted free agent out of Alabama.

Receiving room mostly set
The Bills did not add a receiver during this weekend's draft with any of their eight picks, which leaves Foster to compete with Zay Jones and incoming free agents John Brown and Cole Beasley for snaps in 2019, Mark Gaughan of The Buffalo News reports.
Analysis: The Bills could add someone else to the mix, say a big name gets cut this summer, but for now the team appears fine with using the speedy Foster as the No. 4 man entering the campaign. While Foster's 27-541-3 line in 13 games was big news for a guy that got cut earlier in his 2018 rookie season, the signings of proven receivers like Brown and Beasley do not help his outlook for improving on these figures. Gets competition for snaps
Foster may drop back to a part-time role in 2019 after the Bills reached agreements to sign fellow wide receivers John Brown and Cole Beasley, Joe Buscaglia of WKBW.com reports.
Analysis: Foster was one of the league's standout undrafted rookies in 2018, catching 27 of 44 targets for 541 yards and three touchdowns, with nearly all his production occurring in November and December. The Bills' decision to sign another deep threat (Brown) suggests the team isn't entirely sold on their unexpected gem, perhaps viewing Foster as a one-dimensional player. Major rookie strides
Foster finished his rookie season with 27 catches (44 targets) for 541 yards and three touchdowns in 13 games.
Analysis: That's quite a feat considering Foster was undrafted and even got cut by the team in October, then had to bide his time on the practice squad for three weeks. He returned with something to prove, and quickly became the team's best deep threat and a good match for strong-armed quarterback Josh Allen. Records 52 yards
Foster caught four of seven targets for 52 yards in Sunday's 24-12 loss to New England.

Catches long TD in Week 15
Foster caught four of five targets for 108 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 14-13 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Foster's 42-yard touchdown with 10:26 left in the fourth quarter gave his team a 14-13 lead and ended up standing as the game-winning play. The undrafted rookie out of Alabama has consistently flashed a nice rapport on deep balls with strong-armed quarterback Josh Allen, racking up 94 yards or more in four of the past five games. Over 100 yards against Jets again
Foster caught seven of eight targets for 104 yards in Sunday's 27-23 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Foster accounted for more than half of quarterback Josh Allen's 206 passing yards. Something about facing this opponent brings out the best in the rookie, as he's topped 100 yards in both meetings with the Jets while totaling 151 yards against all other competition. While Foster's probably the most fantasy relevant receiver on the Bills, Allen's struggles as a passer will make it tough to trust any member of Buffalo's offense against the Lions in Week 15.

Keeps climbing depth chart
Foster could serve as the No. 2 receiver over the Bills' final four games after the team released Kelvin Benjamin and Andre Holmes earlier this week, Kyle Silagyi of the Bills' official site reports. "I don't want to say [it's] a confidence boost," Foster said. "I just want to say that I don't want to allow myself to get comfortable. I keep saying that over and over, I don't want to get comfortable. I just want to continue to do what I'm doing and hope that it shows up on Sundays."
Analysis: It's quite the ascension for Foster, who was sitting on the practice squad less than a month ago. A few big games and a couple of roster moves later, Foster now looks to be no worse than the third option at receiver. The Buffalo passing game is incredibly inconsistent, but with a strong-armed rookie in Josh Allen throwing him the ball, the speedy Foster should have a few more big plays in him before the season draws to a close.

Hauls in 27-yard catch
Foster was targeted four times and came down with one 27-yard pass during Sunday's 21-17 loss to Miami.
Analysis: Sure, Foster hasn't seen too much volume as an undrafted rookie this season, but things have picked up in recent weeks. Foster has caught six of 10 targets over the past three weeks after just two catches off of nine targets to start the season and has picked up at least 20 yards on four of those recent catches, including Week 12's 75-yard touchdown grab. Speeds past Jaguars
Foster caught two of three targets for 94 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-21 win over the Jaguars.
Analysis: Foster's highlight came in the first quarter when rookie Josh Allen found him deep for a 75-yard strike to put Buffalo up by two touchdowns. The rookie had just two catches on the season heading into last week, but has five during Buffalo's two-game winning streak, three having gone for 40 yards or more. He gets a very favorable matchup to keep that going next Sunday against a Miami defense giving up 12.4 yards per catch, among the bottom five in the league.

Analysis: Foster's only previous NFL stats were two catches for 30 yards accrued in Week 2, but it took him just one play to eclipse that production. He gained 47 yards on the game's first play and ended up topping 100. Despite Foster's strong performance here, he'll be very difficult to trust after the Week 11 bye, given what we've seen from Buffalo's offense this season (this game notwithstanding).

Promoted to active roster
Foster was promoted to the Bills' 53-man roster Saturday.
Analysis: Foster spent the first six games of the season with Buffalo before being released, and subsequently joined the team's practice squad. The 24-year-old had two receptions for 30 yards and is unlikely to take on a significant workload offensively.
