Reverts to old form
Allen completed 28 of 48 pass attempts for 287 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while rushing for 88 yards on seven carries in Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game.
Analysis: Allen made one of the greatest one-year leaps in progression we've ever witnessed from his second to third campaign. The rising star improved his completion percentage 10 points (59 to 69 percent) while posting MVP-level passing numbers in 2020, but the quarterback we saw on the field Sunday was closer to the inferior 2018/2019 versions, even though he clearly battled hard until the end. Allen was under duress in the pocket and forced some inaccurate throws when he wasn't straight up getting…read more

Gets Bills to AFC Championship Game
Allen completed 23 of 37 attempts for 206 yards and a passing touchdown, adding seven rushes for three yards during Saturday's 17-3 divisional-round win against the Ravens. He fumbled once, but teammate Dion Dawkins recovered the loose ball.
Analysis: Allen's Bills entered the contest at a perfect 7-0 record since Week 12, with the third-year signal-caller compiling 20 total TDs and an NFL-best 1,840 passing yards over his past six outings. Buffalo came out firing through the air with pass attempts on 19 of the team's first 20 plays from scrimmage, but Allen's output in passing yardage was the MVP candidate's fourth-lowest total of the 2020 campaign. Heroic statistical contributions weren't required, as Baltimore struggled to score…read more

Three totals TDs in first playoff W
Allen completed 26 of 35 passes for 324 yards and two touchdowns while adding 54 yards and a touchdown on 11 rushing attempts in Saturday's 27-24 wild-card round win over the Colts.
Analysis: Allen showcased his creativity and improved decision-making on a three-yard touchdown pass to Dawson Knox late in the first quarter, flipping the ball to the tight end when he saw Knox wide open in the end zone on a play that was designed to be a quarterback draw. He then gave the Bills a 14-10 lead just before halftime with a five-yard touchdown run to cap a controversial drive that included a pair of sideline catches by Gabriel Davis that were both ruled in bounds to account for 56 yards,…read more

Finishes with 45 total TDs
Allen completed 18 of 25 passes for 244 yards, three touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 56-26 win over the Dolphins. He also rushed twice for three yards and was replaced by Matt Barkley at halftime to keep Allen healthy for the postseason.
Analysis: Allen was intercepted on the opening drive but responded with a pair of second-quarter touchdown passes to Isaiah McKenzie and another to John Brown to help the Bills take a 28-6 lead into halftime. With Buffalo feeling comfortable about its chances of securing the No. 2 seed in the AFC, Allen got the rest of the afternoon off. The 2018 first-round pick made a third-year leap in 2020, throwing for 4,564 yards and a 37:10 TD:INT to go with 421 yards and eight touchdowns on 102 rushing attempts…read more

Active for Week 17
Allen is active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins and will presumably start at quarterback, though he could be rested at some point during the contest, Michael Giardi of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Allen's favorite target, Stefon Diggs, is also suiting up, but some of the key inactives such as Tre'Davious White, Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison should provide a clue as to how the Bills are viewing this game, which can only dictate whether they'll be the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the AFC, and even the latter would require a Pittsburgh win. It's impossible to predict how some of these Week 17 games will go, but the best guess would seem to be that Allen and the main active players will stay out…read more

Rest candidate for Week 17
Allen may be a candidate to receive rest in Sunday's game against the Dolphins, if the Bills don't make him a healthy inactive for the contest, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Bills head into the regular-season finale in the driver's seat for the AFC's No. 2 seed, but they would drop to third in the conference standings with a loss and a Steelers win over the Browns, which may then result in Buffalo losing out on a potential home game in the divisional round. While that gives the Bills at least some incentive to put out their best squad Week 17, head coach Sean McDermott could look to manage the workloads of key players like Allen carefully, with an eye on…read more

Picks Patriots apart
Allen completed 27 of 36 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns in Monday night's 38-9 win over the Patriots. He also rushed four times for 35 yards.
Analysis: Allen turned in another dazzling display while only playing a few downs into the fourth quarter. The star signal-caller connected with top target Stefon Diggs on three of his touchdowns, including a 50-yarder that broke the game open prior to halftime. With four scores total, Allen set a new Bills franchise record with 34 passing touchdowns on the season, and he topped 300 yards through the air for the eighth time this term as well. Dinged up, ready for action
Allen (knee/ankle) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's practice report.
Analysis: The translation is the running quarterback took some hits in Saturday's win over the Broncos, but he'll be perfectly fine for Week 16 action, especially with an extra day to rest his bumps and bruises with the Bills having yet another prime time game Monday against the rival Patriots.

Clinches division with dominant day
Allen completed 28 of 40 pass attempts for 359 yards and two touchdowns, adding three rushes for 33 yards and two rushing scores during Saturday's 48-19 win against the Broncos.
Analysis: The 24-year-old was already enjoying an all-time Bills season coming into Week 15, sitting atop the franchise record books with 35 offensive TDs (28 passing, six rushing and one receiving). With a dominant effort against Denver's injury-depleted secondary, Allen posted his third consecutive outing of two or more passing TDs as Buffalo clinched its first division title since 1995. Notching his first performance of the season with multiple rushing scores, Allen now has 12 games with both a pass…read more

Carries team to gritty victory
Allen completed 24 of 43 pass attempts for 238 yards, two touchdowns and an interception while adding 28 rushing yards on six carries in Sunday's 26-15 win over the Steelers.
Analysis: The Steelers wanted to test Allen's gumption by blitzing the signal caller early and often Sunday. The upstart quarterback was forced into some poor throws (which have been few and far between this season), but he was able to overcome the pressure and make plays when it mattered (7-for-14 on third-down plays) and secure victory over another AFC contender. Statistically, it was one of Allen's lesser performances this year, as he was completing 70.4 percent of his passes while averaging 283.6…read more

Shines in primetime win
Allen completed 32 of 40 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns with no interceptions in the Bills' 34-24 win over the 49ers on Monday night. He also rushed six times for 11 yards and committed two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis: Coming off his third passing effort this season of less than 200 yards in Week 12 against the Chargers, Allen shredded a 49ers defense that just got Richard Sherman back from injured reserve and had generally done an above-average job limiting opponents through the air. Allen began his scoring barrage with a five-yard touchdown pass to Cole Beasley to erase an early second-quarter deficit, and he'd go on to add scoring tosses of four, 23 and 28 yards to the trio of Dawson Knox, Isaiah McKenzie…read more

TDs as passer, runner in win
Allen completed 18 of 24 passes for 157 yards, a touchdown and an interception in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Chargers. He added 32 yards and a touchdown on nine carries while also losing a fumble.
Analysis: Allen found a wide open Dawson Knox in the back of the end zone for a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter and later watched Cole Beasley throw a 20-yard touchdown on a trick play en route to a 17-6 halftime lead. The mobile quarterback briefly exited the game in the second quarter after having his leg twisted awkwardly but returned for the final play of the first half. Accounts for three TDs in loss
Allen completed 32 of 49 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions in Sunday's 32-30 loss to the Cardinals. He also rushed for 38 yards on seven carries and caught a 12-yard TD pass from Isaiah McKenzie.
Analysis: It was another big performance for the third-year QB, as Allen led the Bills in rushing in addition to being involved in all three of the team's TDs on the afternoon. He's thrown multiple touchdown passes in eight of 10 games this season, leading to a 21:7 TD:INT, and he's also produced six other scores (five rushing, one receiving) as Buffalo heads into its bye week.

Lights up Seahawks for four TDs
Allen completed 31 of 38 pass attempts for 415 yards and three touchdowns while gaining 14 yards and recording another score on seven carries during Sunday's 44-34 win over the Seahawks.
Analysis: The sometimes inaccurate Allen posted a sterling completion rate of 82 percent and averaged a healthy 10.9 yards per attempt. He managed three touchdown passes after going two games without one and added his fifth rushing score of the season to round out an excellent line. Allen seems to be back on track after struggling for a couple of games and will look to add to his numbers in what could be a high-scoring game against the Cardinals next Sunday.

Rushing TD covers for poor passing
Allen completed 11 of 18 passes for 154 yards and an interception while rushing 10 times for 23 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-21 win over the Patriots.
Analysis: Allen was held without a passing touchdown for the second week in a row, but he scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the season from two yards out to put his team up 21-14 early in the fourth quarter. With wide receiver John Brown (knee) playing at less than 100 percent, Buffalo's passing game has taken a major step back after a hot start despite continued production from Stefon Diggs (six catches for 92 yards). Piles up yardage but no TDs
Allen completed 30 of 43 passes for 307 yards in Sunday's 18-10 win over the Jets. He added 11 carries for 61 yards and lost a fumble.
Analysis: Allen found sledding surprisingly tough against the winless Jets, failing to find the end zone after tossing multiple touchdowns in each of his first six games. He lost a costly fumble on 3rd-and-goal down 3-0 in the second quarter, but Allen had no problem moving the ball into field-goal range throughout the contest, as kicker Tyler Bass converted six field goals and missed another two. Falls for second straight week
Allen completed 14 of 27 passes for 122 yards and two TD passes with one interception during Monday's loss to the Chiefs. He added eight rushes for 42 yards.
Analysis: The two TDs and the rushing yards made this a palatable performance from a fantasy perspective, but it was a rough outing for the second straight primetime week for Allen and the Bills, who fall to 4-2. The third-year quarterback has put up his two worst performances of the season in these two games after being a fantasy darling for Weeks 1-4. Loses unblemished record
Allen completed 26 of 41 passes for 263 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions during Tuesday's loss to the Titans. He also rushed four times for 18 yards.
Analysis: The fantasy stats aren't terrible, but this just wasn't the Bills' night in an ugly 42-16 loss -- the team's first of the season -- with Allen misfiring several times and getting a bad bounce on one of the two picks. His 77.6 rating is by far his worst of the season and he tripled his 2020 interception total on one night. Tuesday's game still on track
Allen and the Bills remain on track to meet the Titans on Tuesday after the latest round of COVID-19 testing turned up no new positives among Tennessee's players or coaches, according to several media reports.
Analysis: Things are not in the clear yet, however, as both teams still have to go through more testing with no setbacks. In a strange state of the times, if you've rolled the dice on Allen thus far you've essentially made a bold bet that the game would go on as planned -- or taking it even further, that the last few rounds of COVID-19 testing would come back clean, with your last bailout being a late pivot to Drew Brees or Justin Herbert. Week 5 game still on
Tuesday's scheduled contest between Allen and the Bills vs. the Titans is in line to proceed as planned, barring further developments, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: That said, the status of the slated 7:00 ET kickoff should still be monitored by fantasy managers, with Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com noting that "another positive (COVID-19 test Monday) would likely throw things into limbo." In addition to having their Week 5 game moved to Tuesday, the Bills' Week 6 tilt against the Chiefs has been moved from this coming Thursday to Monday, Oct. 19.

Allen and the Bills are now scheduled to face the Titans on Tuesday instead of Sunday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: The game will only be played this week if there are no more positive tests among the Titans, who have still yet to open up their practice facility following numerous positive COVID-19 tests. As for Allen, at least managers still have a chance of being able to use him this week, though the game being played in Week 5 is still far from a certainty. Allen (left shoulder) practiced fully Wednesday.
Analysis: Allen's ability to take every rep at the Bills' first Week 5 session signals that he avoided a significant injury to his non-throwing shoulder during Sunday's win over Las Vegas. Shoulder injury minor
Asked about the condition of Allen's injured left shoulder Monday, coach Sean McDermott said, "Josh is in pretty good shape, as of this morning," Dante Lasting of the Bills' official site reports.
Analysis: Although Allen didn't miss any plays, he landed on the shoulder awkwardly in the Week 4 win over Las Vegas and had to go to the locker room for evaluation, while Bills Nation collectively held its breath. We'd be surprised if Allen misses any time since the injury is now officially not considered severe and it's to his non-throwing arm. Allen completed 24 of 34 pass attempts for 288 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Raiders. He also carried three times for minus-1 yard and a touchdown in the 30-23 win.
Analysis: Allen completed 71 percent of his passes while averaging a healthy 8.5 yards per attempt. He completed touchdown passes to Gabriel Davis and Cole Beasley in the first half while adding a one-yard touchdown plunge of his own in the fourth quarter. Allen has been nothing short of excellent through four games, totaling 15 touchdowns compared to one interception. Allen completed 24 of 33 passes for 311 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 35-32 win over the Rams. He also rushed four times for eight yards and a touchdown, in addition to losing a fumble.
Analysis: Allen found Lee Smith for a one-yard touchdown on fourth down to open the scoring, then took it himself from one yard out on the next drive before adding a three-yard score to Tyler Kroft to take a 21-3 lead into the locker room at halftime. Spectacular in Week 2 win
Allen completed 24 of 35 passes for 417 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in the Bills' 31-28 win over the Dolphins on Sunday. He also rushed four times for 18 yards.
Analysis: Allen ended up having to do plenty in a game that the Bills were fairly solid favorites in, averaging 11.9 yards per attempt while connecting with eight different pass catchers on the afternoon. The third-year signal caller hit the eclectic quartet of Stefon Diggs, John Brown, Gabriel Davis and Reggie Gilliam for his scoring throws, the final one a 46-yarder to Brown to give Buffalo critical separation with 3:09 remaining. Allen completed 33 of 46 passes for a career-high 312 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 27-17 win over the Jets. He also rushed 14 times for 57 yards and a touchdown while losing two fumbles.
Analysis: Allen consistently kept passing plays alive with his escapability and topped 300 passing yards for the first time in his career while also providing most of Buffalo's rushing production himself. He bounced back beautifully after fumbling on the Bills' first drive, leading his team into the end zone on each of the next three possessions thanks to a two-yard rushing score followed by a four-yard touchdown pass to Zack Moss and a 15-yard toss to John Brown. Beefed up for 2020
Allen has looked noticeably bigger and stronger in the upper body in recent videos posted by his quarterbacks coach, Jordan Palmer, The Buffalo News reports. Said Palmer, " "It's muscle. He's in crazy shape and spinning it great."
Analysis: Allen has always been a physical specimen, which has helped make up for some of his longstanding accuracy issues, but the reports show he looks even more chiseled even though the quarterback says he's only gained three pounds this offseason. Analysis: Allen and the Bills continue to trend up following a playoff season where the quarterback threw for 3,089 yards and 20 touchdowns while running for 510 yards and nine scores. Diggs and John Brown should work as some sort of 1A/1B combo, while Cole Beasley remains one of the more effective slot guys in the league. Coach Sean McDermott expects "a majority" of the Bills starters, including Allen, to play Week 17 against the Jets, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Allen and the Bills are already locked in as the AFC's No. 5 playoff seed, so any playing time received by the starters is likely just a means of keeping the rust off ahead of the postseason. Accounts for two scores in victory
Allen completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 139 yards, a touchdown and an interception while adding 28 yards and a rushing touchdown on seven carries in Sunday's 17-10 win over Pittsburgh.
Analysis: It was a classic Allen game from start to finish as he flashed inaccuracies while also making plays when it mattered with both his arm and legs to lead the team to another win. From a fantasy perspective, the strong-armed quarterback doesn't put up gaudy enough passing numbers to warrant "must-start" status, and he usually needs to make some noise with his legs -- as he did with a rushing touchdown Sunday -- to post a big line. Analysis: Allen completed just 44 percent of his attempts en route to a miserable average of 3.7 yards per attempt. He also took six sacks on the day and his mark of nine rushing yards was his lowest of the season. On a positive note, Allen managed to avoid throwing an interception for the seventh time in the last eight games, though he did lose a fumble in the contest. He will face a tough task as he looks to get back on track next Sunday against the Steelers.

Efficient day in Dallas
Allen completed 19 of 24 passes for 231 yards and a touchdown while gaining 43 rushing yards and another TD on 10 carries in Thursday's 26-15 win over the Cowboys.
Analysis: With the Bills' defense keeping Dak Prescott in check, Allen was able to settle in and get comfortable, and he set season highs in completion percentage and YPA while scampering for his eighth rushing score of the year. Since Buffalo's Week 6 bye, Allen has turned a corner as a passer and posted a sharp 11:1 TD:INT through seven games, giving him plenty of momentum heading into next week's clash with Lamar Jackson and the Ravens.

Rumbles for two-touchdown game
Allen completed 15 of 25 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and an interception during Sunday's 20-3 win over Denver. He added 56 yards on nine carries.
Analysis: Allen relied heavily on his legs during the first half, converting a pair of third downs with long, scrambling runs. He was able to make more of a difference with his arm in the second half, including a game-sealing shot down the sideline to John Brown for a 34-yard touchdown to put the contest out of reach in the fourth quarter. Allen airmailed one second-quarter pass to snap a five-game interception-less streak, but overall, he's been a low-risk, solid reward quarterback since an uneven first…read more

Sets career mark in rating
Allen completed 21 of 33 passes for 256 yards and three touchdowns and added 56 yards and a touchdown on seven runs during Sunday's 37-20 win over Miami.
Analysis: After throwing two first-half touchdowns, Allen decided to get in on the action himself midway through the third quarter, scrambling outside and finding the edge for an eight-yard touchdown, his seventh rushing score of the season. Allen enjoyed a career-high 117.7 quarterback rating Sunday and accounted for four touchdowns for just the second time of his career. Perhaps most importantly for Buffalo's hopes of getting to the playoffs, the sophomore quarterback has been more careful with the…read more

Scores two rushing TDs
Allen completed 22 of 41 pass attempts for 266 yards while rushing six times for 28 yards and two touchdowns during Sunday's 19-16 loss to the Browns.
Analysis: Allen's struggles with his accuracy continued, as he completed just 54 percent of his attempts on the day. He still managed to set a new career high in passing yardage thanks to some big plays while scoring rushing touchdowns in the second and fourth quarters to keep his team in the game. Allen has now accounted for two total touchdowns in each of the last five games, and he's turned the ball over just twice in that span. He'll look to continue his recent success next Sunday against the…read more

Scores twice in Week 9 win
Allen completed 14 of his 20 pass attempts, accounting for 160 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 24-9 win against the Redskins. He also carried the ball eight times for 12 yards and a touchdown while fumbling twice, though neither was recovered by Washington.
Analysis: Sunday's performance marks the third time this year, and the seventh time since the start of last year, that Allen has tallied both a passing and rushing score in the same game. Allen's long-term success ultimately will be predicated on his ability to become more accurate as a thrower, making his Week 9 showing of zero turnovers and a 70 percent completion rate extremely encouraging. Upcoming in Week 10, Allen and the Buffalo passing attack will be facing off against a Browns defense that…read more
