Limited impact in postseason exit
Chubb rushed 13 times for 69 yards and caught two of five targets for four yards in Sunday's 22-17 loss to the Chiefs in the AFC divisional round.
Analysis: Chubb was bottled up in the first half, mustering just 12 yards on five carries and three targets. He finally got going on Cleveland's first touchdown drive in the third quarter, ripping off runs of 23 and 18 yards on consecutive plays to set up a Jarvis Landry touchdown catch. Chubb also converted a 4th-and-1 later in the quarter, reestablishing himself as the leading figure in the Browns' offense. Even with Kareem Hunt -- who scored a fourth-quarter rushing touchdown -- siphoning off a…read more

Notches 40-yard receiving TD
Chubb ran for 76 yards on 18 carries and hauled in all four of his targets for 69 yards and a receiving touchdown during Sunday's 48-37 wild-card win against the Steelers.
Analysis: Having paced the NFL with 4.0 yards per carry after contact this season, Chubb netted his second consecutive 1,000-yard rushing campaign despite missing Weeks 5 through 8 because of a sprained MCL in his right knee. He also entered the playoffs with seven rushing TDs over his final six regular-season outings. After chalking up 108 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries against Pittsburgh last Sunday afternoon, Chubb rumbled for 17 yards on his opening carry of the wild-card round, following that…read more

Tops 1,000 yards on ground
Chubb carried the ball 14 times for 108 yards and a touchdown in Week 17 against the Steelers.
Analysis: Chubb topped 1,000 rushing yards on the season with his third carry of the game -- a 47-yard touchdown. That feat is even more impressive given that Chubb missed four contests with a knee injury, beginning in Week 5. He closed the season strong upon his return, topping 100 total yards in all but two of his last eight efforts. He'll play a key role in the Browns' potential playoff success and will continue to lead the team's backfield.

Finds end zone in loss
Chubb rushed 11 times for 28 yards and a touchdown while catching all five of his targets for 38 yards in Sunday's 23-16 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Chubb was bottled up in the first half, mustering only six yards on eight carries as Cleveland fell into a 13-3 hole. The team largely abandoned the run while playing catch-up after halftime, but Chubb managed to salvage his day with a one-yard touchdown late in the third quarter. He also set a new season high with five catches. Chubb should see a heavier workload on the ground in Week 17 as the Browns try to break a 17-year playoff drought against Pittsburgh.

Scores from in close on SNF
Chubb rushed 15 times for 50 yards and a touchdown while catching both of his targets for 18 yards in Sunday's 20-6 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Chubb punched in a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to salvage what would have been a mediocre outing in a favorable matchup (the Giants entered ranking 20th in points allowed to opposing running backs). It was the first time the star back was held under 4.0 yards per carry in a game this season (3.3), which is not surprising given that he entered the contest with a league-best mark of 5.9 yards per tote. The fact that Sunday's modest output is considered a down performance is a great…read more

Scores twice in narrow defeat
Chubb rushed 17 times for 82 yards and two touchdowns in Monday night's 47-42 loss to the Ravens. He also caught both of his targets for 21 yards.
Analysis: Chubb set the tone for the Browns in the first half, scoring from seven yards to cap Cleveland's opening drive before punching it in from 14 yards prior to halftime. The tailback kept it going in the second half, although teammate Kareem Hunt scored twice when Chubb came out. Despite Hunt's presence, Chubb has been dominant this season, and he's been particularly hot lately. Over his last five outings, the 24-year-old is averaging nearly 110 rushing yards and has scored five times. That form…read more

Tallies seventh touchdown
Chubb rushed the ball 18 times for 80 yards and a touchdown in Week 13 against the Titans. He also chipped in one reception for 26 yards.
Analysis: Chubb's workload was a bit lighter than past weeks as the Browns jumped out to a 38-7 lead. He still managed to make the most of his opportunity, highlighted by a run of 29 yards as well as a one-yard rushing touchdown. Also positive was Chubb's work as a receiver, as he converted a screen pass into a 26-yard gain midway through the first quarter. Despite missing four games due to a knee injury, Chubb now has seven touchdowns and 874 total yards. He'll run into a tough Ravens defense in Week 14.

Dominates Jaguars on ground
Chubb carried the ball 19 times for 144 yards and a touchdown in Week 12 against Jacksonville. He added three receptions for 32 yards.
Analysis: Chubb averaged 7.6 yards per carry on the strength of five rushes that went for more than 10 yards. He added to his big day with a one-yard rushing score for his sixth touchdown of the season. Uncharacteristically, Chubb also chipped in a significant amount as a receiver, highlighted by receptions of 14 and 13 yards. Though Kareem Hunt continues to cut into Chubb's workload, Chubb has topped 100 rushing yards in all three of his contests since returning from a knee injury. He'll draw a matchup…read more

Records fourth 100-yard game
Chubb carried 20 times for 114 yards during Sunday's 22-17 win over the Eagles.
Analysis: Chubb was bottled up in the early going but padded his stat line quite a bit with an explosive 54-yard run in the fourth quarter. He was held out of the end zone and wasn't targeted in the passing game, giving him a respectable yet mundane fantasy line despite the strong effort in a tough matchup. Chubb has surpassed the 100-yard mark in four of his six games while also scoring five touchdowns, and he should thrive on the ground next Sunday against a hapless Jaguars defense.

Shines in return
Chubb (knee) rushed 19 times for 126 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 10-7 win over Houston. He failed to catch his lone target.
Analysis: In his first action since Week 4, Chubb was involved from the get-go, rushing four times for 19 yards to help set up a field goal on the opening drive. Those were the only points scored by either team until Chubb extended Cleveland's lead to 10-0 with a nine-yard touchdown early in the fourth quarter. Kareem Hunt was the preferred option with the Browns running out the clock on the final drive and finished with 132 scrimmage yards on 19 carries and three catches, but this game was further proof…read more

Should lead Week 10 backfield
Chubb (knee) is expected to handle the bulk of the carries for the Browns in his first game back from injured reserve Sunday against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: After missing four games with a sprained MCL in his right knee, Chubb proved his health upon rejoining the Browns for practice this week. He was notably able to take part in all drills during Thursday's workout, prompting the Browns to activate him from IR on Saturday. Though Kareem Hunt was effective in Chubb's stead and remains on hand as a high-quality change-of-pace option, the Browns apparently aren't planning on putting Chubb on any sort of "pitch count" in his return to the lineup. Activated off IR, will play
Chubb (knee) will be activated off injured reserve and play in Sunday's game against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Coach Kevin Stefanski suggested Chubb would need to receive approval from the medical staff to play, so Saturday's designation should give fantasy managers plenty of confidence to insert the star running back into their lineups. It's entirely possible the Browns could still be cautious with Chubb's workload, particularly with Kareem Hunt's more-than-adequate stint as a starter, but it's hard to believe the team would activate Chubb if it didn't plan to play in some capacity. Status for Week 10 still TBD
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Friday that he'll wait until meeting with Cleveland's medical staff to decide whether Chubb (knee) will play against the Texans on Sunday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Analysis: Stefanski added that Chubb, who shed his right knee brace Thursday and participated in all individual drills, has hit all necessary milestones and avoided any setbacks. The Browns still could opt to take a cautious approach to Chubb's recovery and allow him another week of rest, but the 24-year-old's chances of returning Sunday at least look encouraging. In order for Chubb to be available against the Texans, the Browns would need to officially add him to the 53-man roster by Saturday afternoon.…read more

Participates in all drills
Chubb (knee) executed several individual drills during Thursday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: The news that Chubb shed the brace on his right knee was encouraging, and the running back looked good while participating in individuals, which includied catching passes, running in short bursts, and making cuts. The quick cut ability is generally a good indicator of a back's readiness for game action. The potential return of right guard Wyatt Teller (calf), whom ProFootball Focus rates with a league-high 93.9 rushing grade, is another encouraging sign for Chubb. Sheds knee brace
Chubb is practicing without a brace on his right knee Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Chubb has by all accounts looked good since returning to practice Monday, and that he's now managed to shed his knee brace is another positive sign. The Browns are expected to decide whether to activate Chubb from injured reserve in time to play Week 10 on Friday, per Jake Trotter of ESPN.com. Coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that Chubb (knee) is "progressing," while adding that the Browns will make a call Friday on whether the running back will be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Texans, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: The Browns designated Chubb to return from IR earlier this week, so he'll continue practicing Wednesday as the team continues to assess whether he's fit to return to the game action this weekend. If added back to the 53-man roster, Chubb would rejoin a backfield that also includes Kareem Hunt, who has been handling a three-down role while Chubb has been sidelined for the past four games.

Chubb (knee) is taking part in individual drills while wearing a brace on his right knee at Monday's practice, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: The Browns designated Chubb for return from injured reserve Monday, and Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the 24-year-old managed to show off his agility in his first practice activity since Week 4. Designated for return to practice
The Browns designated Chubb (knee) for return from injured reserve Monday.
Analysis: Chubb's recovery timeframe puts him on track to resume practicing this week and potentially retake the field against Houston on Sunday, and being designated to return from IR is the first step in that process. A sprained MCL in his right knee has sidelined Chubb since Week 4, during which time Kareem Hunt has functioned as Cleveland's primary ball carrier. Once Chubb is back at full strength, he and Hunt stand to resume running as a lethal tandem.

In line to practice this week
Chubb (knee) is expected to practice this week with the intention to return next Sunday against the Texans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Coach Kevin Stefanski termed Chubb day-to-day as the Browns commenced their Week 9 bye, forecasting that the running back was progressing toward his first game action since Week 4. In that contest, Chubb suffered a sprained MCL in his right knee and subsequently given a six-week recovery timetable. It remains to be seen how much work he'll get once he's back on the field, but the Browns could employ a more even split with Kareem Hunt until Chubb is back to full health.

On track for Week 10
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Chubb (knee) is progressing and is considered day-to-day heading into the Week 9 bye, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
Analysis: Chubb continues to hit every checkpoint and is expected to return for the Week 10 matchup against the Texans. The third-year running back averaged 17.3 touches per game prior to the injury, and he should return to his typical tandem with Kareem Hunt once he's fully healthy.

Could return Week 10
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that Chubb (knee) won't be ready for Sunday's game against the Raiders but will be evaluated after the Browns' bye in Week 9, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Stefanski also said that Chubb remains on schedule in his recovery from an MCL sprain in his right knee. The standout running back was initially handed a six-week recovery timeframe for his injury, so a return for Cleveland's Week 10 matchup against the Texans would put him right on track. Recovery progressing on track
Browns running backs coach Stump Mitchell said Friday that Chubb (knee) is doing well in his recovery and has attended all team meetings since being placed on injured reserve Oct. 5, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Chubb is two weeks into the expected six-week recovery timetable he was handed after spraining the MCL in his right knee Oct. 4. The 24-year-old has seemingly avoided any setbacks since sustaining the injury, suggesting that fantasy managers can tentatively plan on him returning to action in mid-November. Officially moves to IR
The Browns officially placed Chubb (knee) on injured reserve Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Analysis: Chubb was forced out of Sunday's win over the Cowboys due to a right MCL sprain, the severity of which is now expected to sideline him for roughly six weeks. It's a good sign, at least, that the star running back will avoid surgery and is expected to return this season. In the meantime, Kareem Hunt will take over as Cleveland's clear top running back. The Browns' medical staff expects Chubb (knee) to miss roughly six weeks due to his MCL sprain, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Analysis: Chubb has a history of serious knee injuries, so it's relieving to hear that he's avoided a season-ending issue after being forced out of Sunday's win over the Cowboys. Still, it now looks as though the Browns will be forced to roll with Kareem Hunt as the lead ball carrier until November. Avoids season-ending injury
Coach Kevin Stefanski said Monday that the results of Chubb's MRI revealed an MCL injury that will cause him to spend "several weeks" on IR, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Chubb will be required to spend at least three weeks on injured reserve, though it sounds like the Browns could be without him for longer than that. In the meantime, Kareem Hunt will take over as the top man in Cleveland's backfield. D'Ernest Johnson, who translated 13 carries into 95 yards after Chubb was forced out of Sunday's win over the Cowboys, may also continue seeing increased touches.

Chubb will undergo an MRI to determine the severity of the knee injury he suffered in Sunday's 49-38 win over the Cowboys, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

Won't return to Sunday's contest
Chubb (knee) won't return to Sunday's game against the Cowboys.
Analysis: With Chubb -- who carried six times for 43 yards prior to his exit -- now out for the day, the Browns' Week 4 backfield duties will be handled by the duo of Kareem Hunt and D'Ernest Johnson. Given that Hunt is already rostered in most leagues, Johnson could be a useful waiver-wire add in advance of Week 5, in the event that Chubb is forced to miss any time with his knee issue.

Another two scores
Chubb carried the ball 19 times for 108 yards and two touchdowns in the team's Week 3 win over Washington. He also added one reception for two yards.
Analysis: Chubb saw just over half of the team's 37 rushing attempts and made the most of his opportunities. He punched in his first score midway through the second quarter from 16 yards out and followed that up with a 20-yard trip to the end zone to help clinch the win in the final quarter. While Kareem Hunt continues to earn plenty of work out of Cleveland's backfield, Chubb has shown the skill to produce even with the split workload by averaging 5.8 yards per rush through three games.

Analysis: Chubb was averaging 19.3 carries and 4.0 targets per game at the midway point of 2019, before dropping to 18.0 carries and 2.1 targets over the final eight weeks with Hunt in the lineup. Nearly 150 scrimmage yards Sunday
Chubb rushed 17 times for 127 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 38-24 loss to the Cardinals. He also caught all three of his targets for 21 yards.
Analysis: Chubb was once again Cleveland's best offensive player, averaging a whopping 7.5 yards per carry. That figure was aided by Chubb's 33-yard touchdown run during the second quarter, giving the tailback eight rushing scores in consecutive seasons. Although backfield partner Kareem Hunt excelled through the air, catching eight passes for 62 yards, Chubb remains the Browns' workhorse on the ground. Sunday was the seventh time he's topped the 100-yard plateau this season and the third time he's done…read more

Records 117 scrimmage yards
Chubb carried 15 times for 106 yards and caught his only target for 11 additional yards during Sunday's 27-19 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Chubb averaged an impressive 7.1 yards per carry, although he was largely bottled up outside of an explosive 57-yard gain. He watched as Kareem Hunt received double-digit touches yet again and scored a short rushing touchdown despite lackluster results on most of his carries. Hunt's presence has certainly limited Chubb's weekly ceiling due to decreased usage, but he's still averaged 95.6 rushing yards over the last five games to put him near 1,300 for the season. He will look to thrive in next…read more

Gains 79 yards in loss
Chubb ran for 58 yards on 16 carries and added a 21-yard catch during Sunday's 20-13 loss to Pittsburgh.
Analysis: The Steelers held Chubb to his first game with less than 90 total yards of offense since Week 1. The sophomore back has been supremely productive, but he has just one touchdown in his last six outings. Kareem Hunt hasn't eaten into Chubb's carries too much since making his debut in Week 10, but he does have two touchdowns in four games. That will be worth keeping in mind heading into Sunday's contest against Cincinnati, thought the Bengals came into Week 12 surrendering 4.8 yards per rush,…read more

Scores with 164 scrimmage yards
Chubb carried 21 times for 106 yards during Sunday's 41-24 win over the Dolphins. He also caught three of four targets for 58 additional yards.
Analysis: Chubb exploited this favorable matchup to the tune of 5.0 yards per carry, as he topped the 100-yard mark for the fifth time this season. He also notched a new season high in receiving yardage thanks to a couple of big plays in the passing game. Kareem Hunt scored a short rushing touchdown in the first half, but Chubb got one of his own in the final minutes to end a four-game run without a TD. The second-year back continues to produce at a strong rate and will look to do so again next Sunday…read more

Massive workload in win
Chubb rushed 27 times for 92 yards in the Browns' 21-7 win over the Steelers on Thursday. He also failed to haul in his only target.
Analysis: Any doubts about whether Kareem Hunt would eat into Chubb's lead-back workload were put to rest for at least one more game, as the latter logged a season-high workload. Chubb frequently found running room at a premium against a stingy Steelers front, but he did enough to help keep the chains moving and crossed the 90-yard threshold for the sixth time this season. While Hunt's role figures to continue expanding over the season's remaining games, Chubb will head into a highly favorable Week 12…read more

Produces in Hunt's return
Chubb carried 20 times for 116 yards and caught two passes for an additional five yards during Sunday's 19-16 win over the Bills.
Analysis: Chubb excelled despite a tough matchup against the Buffalo defense, which he gashed to the tune of 5.8 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Kareem Hunt made his season debut, catching seven passes and receiving four carries en route to recording a combined 74 yards of his own. If this game was any indicator, the Browns plan on utilizing the unique skillsets of both of their talented backs, though Chubb should still dominate the carries on a weekly basis. He'll look to do just that in Thursday's matchup…read more

So-so numbers in loss
Chubb carried the ball 20 times for 65 yards and caught four of five targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 24-19 loss to the Broncos.
Analysis: While he's amassed at least 85 scrimmage yards in every game this season, Chubb had difficulty making an impact in this one -- his longest gain went for only 11 yards, and his 3.3 YPC was his worst performance of the year. The second-year RB will look to ramp things up at home next week, facing a Bills defense that just let Adrian Peterson top the century mark against it.
