Another limited practice
Jacobs (shoulder) remained limited at practice Thursday, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Jacobs is thought to be trending in the right direction after sitting out last weekend's loss to the Titans. The Raiders' top back is still likely to be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, in any case.

Stretching Thursday
Jacobs (shoulder) took part in the team stretch during the part of Thursday's practice open to the media, Myles Simmons of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: Jacobs was held out Week 14 due to a fractured plate in his right shoulder, which he initially suffered in the Raiders' Week 7 loss in Green Bay. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, a subsequent MRI revealed positive results, giving Jacobs a good shot to keep his DNP stretch to just one game. After logging a limited session Wednesday, Jacobs appears as if he'll at least match that activity level one day later. Thursday's injury report will reveal whether he was 'limited' or 'full'.

Practices in a limited fashion
Jacobs (shoulder) logged a limited practice Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. "[Jacobs] made some improvement, but he still has to go to there and move explosively [Thursday] and Friday and do the things a running back has to do to play in this league and protect himself in this league," coach Jon Gruden said after practice. "So, we'll see what happens in the next 48 hours."
Analysis: Jacobs' participation to start Week 15 is a good sign, but coach Jon Gruden has yet to sign off on the running back returning to action Sunday against the Jaguars. If Jacobs is able to suit up this weekend, DeAndre Washington would presumably revert to a complementary role after heading the Oakland backfield in the Week 14 loss to the Titans.

Gets good news from MRI
Jacobs (shoulder) received favorable results from his MRI earlier this week and is expected to return to action Sunday against the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jacobs sat out the Raiders' Week 14 loss to the Titans due to a fractured shoulder plate, an injury he had previously been playing through since the Oct. 20 game against the Packers. The week off coupled with the encouraging test results seemingly put the standout rookie on track for only a brief absence, though the Raiders will see how he fares during practices Wednesday through Friday before ruling on his status for Week 15. DeAndre Washington (19 touches for 106 yards and a touchdown) worked…read more

Inactive as expected
Jacobs (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's Week 14 tilt against the Titans.
Analysis: This announcement makes official what had been increasingly expected throughout the day, with Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reporting Jacobs is dealing with a fracture of his shoulder plate and has an MRI scheduled for this coming week. In his absence, change-of-pace options Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington will be tasked with filling Jacobs' shoes and likely will operate in tandem to soak up the significant workload the latter had been enjoying.

Not expected to play
Jacobs (shoulder) is not in line to be active Sunday against the Titans, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Official confirmation of Jacobs' status will arrive upon the release of the Raiders' inactives in advance of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, but in his expected absence, DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard are slated to handle the Raiders' Week 14 rushing duties. Rapoport adds that Jacobs has an MRI on tap in the coming days.

Seen as game-time decision
The Raiders are viewing Jacobs (shoulder), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's tilt with the Titans, as a true game-time decision, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Jacobs revealed earlier this week through social media that he's been battling a fractured plate in his right shoulder since the Oct. 20 game against Green Bay. While the rookie has been plenty effective over the Raiders' subsequent six games (566 total yards, three touchdowns), the injury has limited his practice time and looks like it's becoming more difficult for him to manage. He sat out the Raiders' first two practices of Week 14 before returning in a limited capacity for Friday's…read more

Questionable for Week 14
Jacobs (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: After missing the Raiders' first two practices of the week with the fractured right shoulder he's been playing through for the past month and a half, Jacobs only put in limited work during Friday's walk-through session. The rookie's status thus appears to be on shakier ground than it has in recent weeks, and the fact that the Raiders kick off among the late wave of games Sunday (at 4:25 p.m ET) provides an added wrinkle that his fantasy managers will have to take into account. In the event the…read more

Returns to practice
Jacobs (shoulder) was on the field for the start of Friday's walk-through practice, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: The Raiders will reveal later Friday if Jacobs was a limited or full participant in the session, as well as noting whether or not the rookie will carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Titans. Jacobs sat out the Raiders' first two practices of the week with what he revealed to be a fractured right shoulder, an injury he's been able to play through since the Raiders' Oct. 20 loss to Green Bay.

Not present for practice
Jacobs (shoulder) wasn't spotted at the portion of Thursday's practice that was open to the media, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jacobs is slated to go down as a non-participant in practice for the second straight day, a development that creates more concern about his status for Sunday's game against the Titans than compared to previous weeks. The rookie admitted earlier this week that he's been playing through a fractured right shoulder since the Raiders' Oct. 20 loss to the Packers, but the injury didn't seem to hamper his effectiveness in the following six games, as he racked up 507 yards (4.7 per carry) and three…read more

Playing through shoulder injury
Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Per the report, the running back revealed on social media this week that he's been toughing it out through a fractured right shoulder since sustaining the injury in an Oct. 20 loss to the Packers. Based on the pattern he's followed in previous weeks, expect Jacobs to return to a limited practice Thursday and gain clearance for Sunday's game against the Titans. Despite the ongoing shoulder issue, the rookie has carried 218 times for 1,061 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games to date to go…read more

Makes history in loss
Jacobs carried the ball 17 times for 104 yards in Sunday's 40-9 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: It's the fifth time this season the rookie has hit for triple-digit rushing yards, with all those performances coming in the last eight games. As a result of that surge, Jacobs passed 1,000 yards on the year in the first quarter Sunday, becoming the first rookie in Raiders history to reach that milestone. He'll look to keep rolling next week against the Titans.

Cleared to face Kansas City
Jacobs (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: As has become the routine of late, Jacobs was listed as a limited practice participant all week, with the Raiders keeping their top back fresh and ready for game days. Though the Jets held Jacobs to 34 yards on 10 carries in their blowout win over Oakland in Week 12, the 2019 first-round pick looks poised for a bounce-back outing against the Chiefs, who have surrendered 143.1 yards per game on the ground. Only the Dolphins (148.2) and Bengals (166.3) have allowed more.

Listed as limited
Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Lays egg against Jets
Jacobs rushed 10 times for 34 yards and caught his lone target for two yards in Sunday's 34-3 loss to the Jets.
Analysis: Jacobs and starting quarterback Derek Carr were both taken out of the game late in the third quarter with the Raiders trailing 34-3. The rookie running back still is locked in as Oakland's workhorse on the ground, but nothing went right for his team in this one. He'll have an opportunity to bounce back against the vulnerable Chiefs run defense Week 13, in a game the Raiders will need to win to keep pace in the AFC West.

Good to go against Jets
Jacobs (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Analysis: Jacobs was listed as a limited practice participant this week as the Raiders continue to manage his reps. It's nothing that's hampered his workload in games of late, as evidenced by Week 11's 23-carry, 112-yard rushing effort against the 0-10 Bengals. Jacobs does, however, have a tougher matchup on tap Sunday, given that the 3-7 Jets are allowing a league-low average of 79.1 yards per game on the ground.

Still limited at practice
Jacobs (shoulder) remained limited at practice Thursday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

Limited at practice Wednesday
Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jacobs has been managing a shoulder issue of late, but despite his limitations at practice over the last two weeks, he approached both of the Raiders' last two outings minus an injury designation. Expect him to continue that trend this week in advance of Sunday's game against the Jets.

Contributes 124 scrimmage yards
Jacobs carried 23 times for 112 yards and caught all three of his targets for 12 yards during Sunday's 17-10 win over the Bengals.
Analysis: Jacobs was quite effective on the ground, averaging 4.9 yards per carry while topping the 100-yard mark for the fifth time in the last seven games. He caught each of his three looks in the passing game but was unable to make a significant impact, though his 124 scrimmage yards were his third-highest mark of the season. Jacobs remains a focal point of the Oakland offense and will look to continue producing next Sunday against the Jets.

Cleared for Week 11 action
Jacobs (shoulder) doesn't carry an injury designation into Sunday's home game against Cincinnati.
Analysis: Jacobs was listed as a limited practice participant all week as he continues to manage a shoulder issue, but he'll be out there Sunday. Assuming he endures no in-game setbacks, Jacobs will profile as a high-end fantasy option at running back in Week 11 while facing off against a toothless Cincinnati defense. To date, the 0-9 Bengals have allowed a league-high 173.0 yards per game on the ground.

Limited at practice Wednesday
Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jacobs managed a shoulder issue leading up to last Thursday's 26-24 win over the Chargers before logging 30 of a possible 58 snaps on offense, en route to carrying 16 times for 71 yards and a TD and catching three passes for 30 yards. With no reported setbacks in that contest, we'll presume for now that Jacobs' limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related.

Over 100 total yards in win
Jacobs rushed 16 times for 71 yards and a touchdown and secured three of five targets for 30 yards in the Raiders' 26-24 win over the Chargers on Thursday.
Analysis: Jacobs had just logged a career-high 28 carries against the Lions four days prior and is nearing the "rookie wall" portion of his first season, so it would have hardly been surprising to see him scuffle for yardage Thursday. However, Jacobs was as effective as usual, and he clinched the narrow victory via an 18-yard touchdown scamper with 1:02 remaining. Jacobs has now has three rushing scores over the last two games, and his 30 receiving yards Thursday were also a career high. He'll look to…read more

Jacobs (shoulder) was a full participant in Tuesday's practice, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

Limited on practice estimate
Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant on Monday's practice estimate, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Raiders didn't hold a practice Monday, and Jacobs likely would've had a cap on his reps if they did. The rookie first-round pick has been dealing with this shoulder injury since Week 7's loss to the Packers, but he hasn't been held back, as he rushed a season-high 28 times for 120 yards and two scores in this past Sunday's 31-24 win over the Lions. At this time, there's no reason to think he won't be ready for Thursday's matchup against the Chargers.

Scores twice in monster effort
Jacobs carried 28 times for 120 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Lions.
Analysis: Jacobs notched a new career high in rush attempts while coming four yards shy of his personal best in that category. He scored a two-yard touchdown in the first quarter and added a three-yard score just before halftime, giving him three multi-touchdown games this season. He failed to haul in either of his two targets and continues to underwhelm as a receiver, but he's otherwise been a useful fantasy asset of late. Jacobs will look to keep it up Thursday in a Week 10 matchup against the Chargers.

Good to go in Week 9
Jacobs (shoulder) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Lions.
Analysis: Jacobs was limited at practice all week as he managed a shoulder issue, but it's something he played through in Week 8's loss to the Texans, en route leading the Oakland backfield with 15 carries for 66 yards and two catches for 15 yards. He'll look to up his production Sunday against a Lions defense that is allowing an average of 130.7 rushing yards per game, which ranks 26th in the NFL.

Jacobs (shoulder) remained limited at practice Thursday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Jacobs didn't practice last week until Friday, so he's already well ahead of where he was this time last week, on the heels of back-to-back limited sessions. We expect the running back to be out there for Sunday's 4:05 ET tilt against the Lions, but there's a decent chance the Raiders will officially list him as questionable on their final Week 9 injury report.

Jacobs (shoulder) was listed as a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.

Records 81 scrimmage yards
Jacobs carried 15 times for 66 yards and caught two passes for an additional 15 yards during Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Texans.
Analysis: Although Jacobs averaged a respectable 4.4 yards per carry against a solid Texans front, his 15 totes on the day were his fewest since Week 3. He made a slight contribution as a pass-catcher, but his total of 81 scrimmage yards was his second lowest of the season. While it wasn't his greatest effort to date, Jacobs' high floor for yardage and touches still makes him a solid fantasy play, and he should continue as such next Sunday at home against the Lions.

Ready to roll Week 8
Jacobs (shoulder) is active for Sunday's tilt against the Texans.

Listed as questionable
Jacobs (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET game against the Texans after returning to a limited practice Friday.
Analysis: Per Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle, coach Jon Gruden tentatively expects Jacobs -- who has been dealing with a sore shoulder -- to play this weekend, "but we'll have to see how it goes." Not practicing, but plans to play
Though Jacobs didn't practice Thursday, he intends to play Sunday against the Texans, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. "It would have to be broke for me not to play," Jacobs noted of the sore shoulder that has led to back-to-back absences from practice.
Analysis: That the rookie running back plans to play is highly encouraging, but ideally he'll get at least some reps at Friday's practice. Ultimately, his Week 8 status is not his call, but it sounds like Jacobs believes that his shoulder issue is something he can manage and play through this weekend. He's still likely to end up being listed as questionable by the Raiders, in any case.

Analysis: Jacobs' availability for Sunday's game against the Texans is beginning to look dicey with the running back having now missed both of the Raiders' first two practices of the week. Coach Jon Gruden noted Wednesday that Jacobs is still feeling sore coming out of the Raiders' Week 7 loss to the Packers, so the running back will be extended another day of rest with the hope it helps resolve the issue. Shoulder still sore
Coach Jon Gruden said that Jacobs is "still very sore" due to a shoulder injury he suffered Sunday against the Packers, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: The running back didn't practice Wednesday, but given that he toughed it out after sustaining the injury this past Sunday, he has a shot to play this weekend against the Texans, provided he's able to return to practice Thursday or Friday. Next up for carries for the Raiders in the event that Jacobs is limited or out against Houston are DeAndre Washington and Jalen Richard.

Analysis: Jacobs strained his shoulder during Sunday's loss to the Packers but he returned to action after receiving treatment and finished with 134 scrimmage yards. The fact that Jacobs was able to play through the issue bodes well for his chances of suiting up Week 8 against the Texans, but the Raiders may restrict his practice time as a safeguard. Analysis: Those who have spent the last year or so under a rock might have tuned in to the game and wondered why Marshawn Lynch was wearing No. 28. Skies for the game-winner
Jacobs ran for 123 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries and added 20 yards on three catches during Sunday's 24-21 win over Chicago.
Analysis: Jacobs capped the comeback in the closing minutes of Sunday's contest, leaping over the Bears defense for a two-yard touchdown to put Oakland on top for good. His two touchdowns were his first since Week 1, but he's comfortably the most reliable Raider from a fantasy perspective, tallying at least 99 total yards in four of five games. He'll be counted on Week 7 against a Packers defense that is pesky against the pass, but has been exposed at times by good running backs.

Elevates to full practice
Jacobs (elbow) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Jacobs was limited in the Raiders' first session of the week Wednesday due to an elbow issue, but there was never much concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Bears in London. Jacobs' upgrade to full work in practice supports the notion that he'll suit up this weekend and once again lead the Oakland backfield.

Limited to begin week
Jacobs was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to an elbow injury.
Analysis: The severity of Jacobs' injury isn't fully known, but it's certainly a positive sign that he wasn't held out of practice entirely. Jacobs' participation level in practices Thursday and Friday will warrant close monitoring as Sunday's tilt against the Bears approaches. The rookie first-round pick has notched at least 99 total yards in three of the Raiders' four games this season.

Picks up 108 yards in win
Jacobs ran for 79 yards for 17 carries and added 29 yards on two catches during Sunday's 31-24 win over the Colts.
Analysis: Jacobs continues to plug away, reaching 99 yards or more for the third time this season. Fans would surely love to see more touchdowns as Jabobs has been scoreless since Week 1 and he has not had a 20-touch game since the opener, but it's hard to ask for more from the rookie runner. He'll have his hands full in Week 5 against a dominant Bears defense.

Game script mitigates production
Jacobs accounted for 44 yards on 10 carries and was unable to haul in either of his targets during Sunday's 34-14 loss to Minnesota.
Analysis: Jacobs has come back down to earth over the past two weeks after a historic NFL debut on Monday Night Football against the Broncos in Week 1. The Alabama product became the first player with 100 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in his first NFL game since LaDainian Tomlinson in 2001. In two games since, however, Jacobs has produced only 71.5 scrimmage yards per game with zero touchdowns. The rookie first-round draft choice aims to regain elite production in Week 4, taking on a Colts…read more

Cleared to play Sunday
Jacobs (groin/hip) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Vikings after practicing fully Friday.
Analysis: The running back's return to a full practice Friday sets the stage for him to move past groin and hip issues, as well as an illness that led to him dropping weight, in order to head the Raiders' Week 3 backfield. We'd expect the team to give him all the early-down work he can handle Sunday, while Jalen Richard and DeAndre Washington remain on hand to serve as backup/change-of-pace options.

Still limited at practice
Jacobs (groin/hip) was limited at practice again Thursday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: As the report notes, Jacobs also "took to social media (Thursday) to say he had lost 10 pounds" due to an illness. After playing through a groin injury in Week 2, having felt under the weather of late and now being listed with a hip issue, Jacobs could well be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings. That said, we still expect the rookie back to suit up this weekend. We'll let you know if that outlook changes, however, based on his Friday practice participation.

Drops weight due to illness
Jacobs, who has been dealing with a groin injury, indicated that he's also been under the weather of late and has dropped 10 pounds, NBC Sports California reports.
Analysis: Jacobs logged a limited practice Wednesday and that figures to be the case again Thursday. At this point, however, his status for Sunday's game against the Vikings does not appear in danger, with the potential concern being that he may be operating at less than 100 percent this weekend. In Week 2's loss to the Chiefs, in additional to battling through his groin issue, Jacobs left the contest "for a bit to get an IV."

Listed as limited Wednesday
Jacobs (groin) was limited at practice Wednesday.
Analysis: We'll continue to track Jacobs' status in the coming days, but ESPN's Paul Gutierrez notes that the rookie back played through his groin issue this past Sunday against the Chiefs. Barring any setbacks, we'd expect Jacobs -- who was quoted afterward as saying "I don't want to be labeled as a soft back" -- to be available this coming weekend against the Vikings.

Dealing with groin issue
Head coach Jon Gruden said Monday that Jacobs is nursing a groin issue, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: The news is certainly a little worrisome for fantasy owners, who have enjoyed Jacobs' 35 carries for 184 yards (5.3 YPC) and two touchdowns through his first two games in the league. It's unclear how serious the issue is, although the rookie's degree of participation in practice this week will help shine a light on his status for Sunday's matchup with Minnesota.

Just misses hitting century mark
Jacobs carried the ball 12 times for 99 yards in Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: The running game was the only element of the Raiders' offense to show much spark, but Jacobs saw his role shrink in the second half after the club fell behind. The rookie has more than justified his selection in the first round so far, piling up 212 scrimmage yards and two TDs through his first two NFL games.

Magnificent debut against Broncos
Jacobs ran for 85 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, while adding a 28-yard reception on his only target during Monday's 24-16 win against Denver.
Analysis: After fielding eight carries per game last year in the Alabama backfield alongside Damien Harris and Najee Harris, the No. 24 overall pick was thrust into a bellcow role Week 1, commanding 82.8 percent of the Raiders' running back touches. A Broncos defense that surrendered the eighth-most 20-plus yard runs last year was susceptible once again to the ground attack Monday night, allowing Jacobs to gain six-plus yards on five of his 23 carries, while twice seeing the powerful rookie back surge…read more

Not satisfied with debut
Coach Jon Gruden is pleased with Jacobs' performance, but the rookie said he left some yards on the field in Thursday's 33-26 preseason win over Arizona, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports. "I like [Jacobs]," Gruden said. "He's really picked up the offense fast, he's improved in the passing game. We're really excited about him."
Analysis: Jacobs took four carries for 21 yards in his pro debut, getting all of his work within the first five snaps of the game. He believes he missed some opportunities to rip off a long run, yet also acknowledged that the game has "slowed down" for him after a few weeks of practice in training camp. The first-round pick is primed for the lead role in Oakland's backfield, but Jalen Richard will get playing time on passing downs, and Doug Martin could poach some carries. Gains 21 yards in preseason debut
Jacobs rushed for 21 yards on four carries during Thursday's 33-26 win over Arizona.
Analysis: If there was any doubt of how heavily Oakland might lean on its rookie rusher, Jon Gruden provided a glimpse Thursday. Jacobs ran the ball on four of Oakland's first five plays, including gains of at least six yards on three consecutive carries. The Raiders have solid veteran depth behind Jacobs, but they presumably have big plans for the Alabama product this season after taking him 24th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Out for preseason opener
Jacobs isn't expected to suit up for Saturday's preseason game versus the Rams, Matt Kawahara of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Selected by the Raiders in the first round of the 2019 draft, Jacobs is in line to be the early down running back this fall and even has showed off his pass-catching chops during training camp. However, his pro debut will have to wait until Thursday at Arizona, at the earliest.

Displays pass-catching skills
Jacobs has displayed "great hands" early on in training camp, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The same training camp review noted that veteran back Doug Martin was "the most impressive runner" during the first week of camp, but we won't read to much into that, as the Raiders presumably didn't take Jacobs 24th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft to be a backup. What is worth noting is that if Jacobs proves that he can be an effective pass catcher/blocker -- and the early returns are good on that front -- it will help him stay on the field in more situations as a rookie and likely cut into…read more

Officially signs with Oakland
Jacobs signed a four-year, $11.9 million contract that includes a fifth-year option with the Raiders on Tuesday, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Analysis: There were some reports that Jacobs was in danger of missing the start of training camp, but the team apparently never had much doubt about reaching a deal in time. The 21-year-old figures to see a heavy workload, following the retirement of Marshawn Lynch and Isaiah Crowell's season-ending Achilles injury. Pass-catching specialist Jalen Richard and 30-year-old Doug Martin represent the remaining competition for snaps.

Could miss start of training camp
Jacobs could miss the start of training camp thanks to an ongoing contract dispute, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: One of six 2019 first-round picks not to have signed a contract as of Saturday, there's reportedly a possibility Jacobs could miss the start of training camp while he negotiates for more signing bonus in his rookie contract. While the likes of Joey Bosa and Roquan Smith stand out as two recent highly drafted rookies to hold out for a better deal, it's more than likely the Raiders will come to terms with their running back prior to the start of training camp, particularly with HBO's Hard Knocks,…read more
