Best game as a pro
Sanders rushed 19 times for 122 yards and a touchdown while catching all six of his targets for 50 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-27 win over Washington.
Analysis: Sanders found paydirt from one yard out in the second quarter for his second career rushing touchdown, then added the third receiving touchdown of his rookie season on a 15-yard catch in the back corner of the end zone in the third quarter. He later broke free for a 56-yard run, setting up Zach Ertz's go-ahead touchdown with 10 minutes to play. If Jordan Howard (shoulder) isn't ready to make his return in Week 16, Sanders should continue to serve in a bell cow role against Dallas in a game that…read more

Expected starter once more
Sanders will start at running back Sunday against the Redskins after the Eagles ruled out Jordan Howard (shoulder) on Saturday.
Analysis: At this point, it's fair to wonder if Howard will play at all the rest of the season, as head coach Doug Pederson suggested Friday the veteran tailback was still not yet cleared for contact. Sanders was disappointing in a solid matchup against the Giants in Week 14 as a starter, registering just 69 total yards despite close to 20 touches, but he'll have yet another opportunity to shine against the Redskins, who have allowed at least 100 yards rushing to running backs in seven of the last eight…read more

Finishes winning effort
Sanders rushed 15 times for 45 yards and caught four of five targets for 24 yards in Monday night's 23-17 overtime win over the Giants.
Analysis: Sanders ended with nearly 20 touches, but missed a period of time while dealing with leg cramps. Although he returned to finish the game, backup Boston Scott capitalized on Sanders' absence, totaling 128 yards and a touchdown on his 16 touches. While that situation will surely leave some fantasy owners rueing Sanders' missed opportunities, the fact he was able to return at least offers some solace ahead of Week 15's tilt against Washington.

Starting again Week 14
Sanders will be the Eagles' starting running back Monday against the Giants, Mike Kaye of NJ.com reports.
Analysis: Sanders is getting the nod with Jordan Howard (shoulder) inactive once again. In three prior contests with Howard missing from the Eagles' backfield, Sanders averaged 16.7 touches for 79.3 yard from scrimmage while scoring one receiving touchdown. Behind Sanders, Jay Ajayi and Boston Scott represent Philly's other available running backs.

Records first-quarter receiving TD
Sanders ran for 83 yards on 17 rush attempts and caught all five of his targets for 22 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 37-31 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: The rookie back was handed the keys as Philadelphia's workhorse against Miami's 31st-ranked rush defense and turned in an impressive 4.9 yards-per-carry average, with a 15-yard receiving TD to boot. With Jordan Howard (shoulder) having practiced on a limited basis all week leading up to Sunday's contest and remaining questionable for Week 14, Sanders may once again be in line for a hefty workload as the Eagles take on a Giants defense that has contained opposing running backs to a respectable…read more

Expected to handle lead role
Sanders is expected to once again handle the lead role out of the Eagles backfield after Jordan Howard (shoulder) was ruled out prior to Sunday's game against the Dolphins.
Analysis: Howard is now slated to miss his third straight contest with a shoulder injury. The Eagles had opted not to rule out their nominal starting running back until hours before kickoff in either of the previous two games, so it's a bit surprising to see the organization make the decision early this week, but it's a benefit to Sanders' fantasy owners considering their opponent, the Dolphins, have allowed at least 100 rushing yards in all but two games this season. Leads backfield
Sanders rushed the ball 12 times for 63 yards in the team's Week 12 loss to the Seahawks. He also added three receptions on five targets for 23 yards.
Analysis: Sanders tallied 15 total touches, matching the highest mark of his rookie campaign. He was largely bottled up on the ground in the first half, but he managed more than five yards on seven of his carries overall. Sanders also contributed in the passing game, and he has now recorded at least three receptions in five of his last six contests. Should lead Howard-less backfield
Sanders is expected to handle a lead role out of the Eagles backfield with Jordan Howard (shoulder) inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
Analysis: While Howard sat out the Week 11 loss to the Patriots, Sanders saw the highest offensive snap share of his young career (85 percent), but only parlayed his 13 touches into 47 yards. The Eagles' offense struggled as a whole to move the ball on a tough New England defense, but the home matchup with Seattle should prove more favorable for the rookie. That being said, coach Doug Pederson has historically favored used a committee at running back, so it wouldn't be surprising if the newly signed Jay…read more

May garner lead role sans Howard
Sanders is expected to see the majority of the touches out of the backfield Sunday against the Seahawks with Jordan Howard (shoulder) unlikely to play, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriots-News reports.
Analysis: Howard is officially listed as questionable for the contest, but he's expected to be inactive for a second straight game after failing to practice fully at any point this week. Assuming that's the case, Sanders looms as the next man up on the depth chart, though his role on offense may not be quite as sizable as it was in the Week 11 loss to the Patriots. Sanders played 85 percent of the offensive snaps in that contest but managed only 47 total yards on 15 touches, while backup Boston Scott…read more

Ineffective in lead role
Sanders carried the ball 11 times for 38 yards and caught two of four targets for nine yards in Sunday's 17-10 loss to the Patriots.
Analysis: Neither offense had much success, but the Eagles' running game in particular struggled with Sanders in the No. 1 spot. Jordan Howard's timetable to recover from his shoulder injury remains unclear, but the newly re-signed Jay Ajayi could be a bigger factor in Week 12 after not seeing a touch in this one. If Sanders does get another start next week, though, the rookie could make an impact against a Seattle defense that's in the bottom five in the league in rushing TDs allowed.

Should headline Week 11 backfield
Sanders is expected to serve as the Eagles' lead running back Sunday against the Patriots with Jordan Howard (shoulder) not expected to play, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: The Eagles are listing Howard as questionable for the contest, but he's expected to be included among the team's seven inactives, which will be released 90 minutes prior to the 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff. With Howard out of the picture this week, Sanders should be in store for his heaviest snap count to date after playing no more than 54 percent of the Eagles' offensive plays in any of the team's first nine contests. Could lead backfield if Howard sits
Sanders may be in store for the lead role out of the Philadelphia backfield Sunday against the Patriots with Jordan Howard (shoulder) listed as questionable for the contest, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Analysis: Though Howard was a limited participant in practice throughout the week, coach Doug Pederson noted prior to Friday's session that the Eagles' top ground option hasn't yet been cleared to resume taking contact. Given that Howard hasn't fully recovered from the stinger he suffered in the Week 9 win over the Bears, there's reason to believe he may be limited or withheld entirely from the matchup with New England. Totals 73 scrimmage yards
Sanders carried 10 times for 42 yards and caught all three of his targets for an additional 31 yards during Sunday's 22-14 win over the Bears.
Analysis: Sanders received double-digit carries for the first time in five games, averaging a respectable 4.2 yards per tote against a solid Chicago defense. He also hauled in exactly three of three targets for the fourth straight game, averaging 10.3 yards per catch en route to 73 scrimmage yards. Sanders (shoulder) was listed as a full participant on Thursday's injury report.

Hopeful to play vs. Bears
Sanders (shoulder) said that he expects to suit up for Sunday's game against the Bears, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Analysis: Sanders was unable to practice Wednesday, but noted that he'll likely be back on the field for Thursday's session in some capacity. During Sunday's win over the Bills, the rookie running back reportedly aggravated a shoulder injury that dates back to his time at Penn State. While it's certainly good news that the 22-year-old has avoided a significant injury, the Eagles could take a cautious approach with him ahead of a Week 10 bye. Sanders (shoulder) wasn't spotted at the portion of Wednesday's practice open to the media, Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.
Analysis: Sanders exited Sunday's win over the Bills due to a shoulder issue. Coach Doug Pederson called Sanders day-to-day on Monday based on the results of his X-rays, indicating that 22-year-old avoided a major injury. Avoids major injury
Coach Doug Pederson said Monday that Sanders (shoulder) is "gonna be OK" and is being viewed as day-to-day after X-rays cleared the running back of any structural damage, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
Analysis: While Pederson's comments offer assurance that Sanders avoided a major injury in Sunday's win over the Bills, it's worth noting that the coach tends to throw around the "day-to-day" terminology liberally. With that in mind, more clarity on Sanders' outlook for the Week 9 game against the Bears probably won't come until the Eagles have a chance to evaluate him in practices Wednesday through Friday. Suffers shoulder injury Sunday
Sanders left Sunday's game at Buffalo due to a shoulder injury, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Analysis: Both Sanders and Jordan Howard got banged up in the third quarter, with the former heading to the locker room immediately with the training staff. While Howard's injury is unknown, Sanders is questionable to return, leaving Boston Scott as the Eagles' only healthy and available running back. If he doesn't reenter the game, Sanders will finish with three carries for 74 yards and a TD to go with three receptions (on three targets) for 44 yards.

Totals 32 scrimmage yards
Sanders rushed six times for 21 yards and caught all three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 37-10 loss to the Cowboys.
Analysis: The Eagles trailed nearly the entire game, but they still refused to abandon the run, as their running backs totaled 24 carries compared to Carson Wentz's 26 throws. Sanders finished as No. 3 in the team's pecking order, though, since Jordan Howard had 11 rushes while Boston Scott recorded seven. Excels as receiver in loss
Sanders rushed three times for six yards but secured all three targets for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 38-20 loss to the Vikings on Sunday.
Analysis: Sanders was the surprise receiving yardage leader on the day for the Eagles, with a game-long 45-yard reception and a 32-yard touchdown grab serving as the highlights of his afternoon. The rookie has seen fewer opportunities on the ground than backfield mate Jordan Howard, but he clearly carries more big-play potential overall. Analysis: Pederson admitted in his Monday press conference that Howard had seized the lead role on the ground for now, but the coach is still leaving the door open for Sanders to find more work if he can capitalize on the opportunities he receives. Outplayed by Howard on ground
Sanders rushed nine times for 15 yards and caught four of five targets for 49 more yards in Sunday's 31-6 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Sanders worked in a timeshare with Jordan Howard, who gained 62 yards on 13 carries. Howard was the guy who got the call from one yard out in the first quarter and converted a touchdown. Sanders is still searching for his first career touchdown while Howard has scored five in the last three weeks, relegating the rookie to the clear No. 2 role in Philadelphia's backfield from a fantasy standpoint.

Analysis: The highlight of Sanders' night was a game-long 30-yard run early in the third quarter, but he was efficient on his other 10 carries as well by generating a respectable 42 yards on those totes. Racks up 126 total yards in loss
Sanders rushed 13 times for 53 yards and brought in two of four targets for 73 yards in the Eagles' 27-24 loss to the Lions on Sunday. He also committed two fumbles, losing one.
Analysis: Sanders showed off his big-play ability with a 40-yard catch in the first quarter and also enjoyed a solid day on the ground. The rookie's receiving yardage actually paced the short-handed Eagles pass-catching corps on the afternoon and served as his highest over the first three games of his pro career. Coach Doug Pederson expressed confidence in Sanders on Monday, Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal reports.
Analysis: Sanders led all Eagles running backs in offensive snaps Sunday in Atlanta with 35, which was followed by Darren Sproles' 28 and Jordan Howard's 18. Meanwhile, Corey Clement was contained to just 10 plays on special teams. Sanders wasn't exactly efficiently with his reps -- 10 carries for 28 yards and three receptions (on four targets) for nine yards -- but Sproles and Howard were even less so. Sanders carried 11 times for 25 yards and caught one of two targets for an additional two yards during Sunday's 32-27 win over the Redskins.
Analysis: Sanders unexpectedly led the backfield in carries, with Jordan Howard and Darren Sproles receiving six and nine, respectively. Unfortunately, he did little on the ground outside of a 19-yard gain and wasn't quite as involved as a receiver as either of his two aforementioned teammates. Unlikely to start Week 1

Analysis: Coach Doug Pederson is notorious for using all the running backs at his disposal, but he also confirmed earlier in the week that Sanders will have a role in his first NFL action. Coach Doug Pederson confirmed Wednesday that Sanders will have a role in Philadelphia's offense right away in Week 1 against the Redskins, Daniel Gallen of The Harrisburg Patriot-News reports.
Analysis: Sanders enters the season as part of a crowded backfield that includes more experienced options in Jordan Howard, Darren Sproles and Corey Clement, all of whom bring unique skill sets to the table. The division of labor among all the backs is difficult to predict at this point, but it's reassuring for Sanders' investors to some degree that he won't be buried on the depth chart, even if he doesn't draw the Week 1 start. Held out to rest
Sanders and Jordan Howard didn't play in Thursday's preseason loss to Baltimore.
Analysis: Sanders got the start the previous week against Jacksonville, taking five carries for 31 yards while sharing first-team snaps with Howard. The Eagles used their third preseason game to take a look at Corey Clement, who is working his way back from a knee injury and now appears on track for a roster spot. It isn't quite clear how coach Doug Pederson will divide backfield snaps, but there's no doubt Sanders is a part of the plan -- possibly even the main part.

Efficient in preseason win
Sanders carried five times for 31 yards in the Eagles' 24-10 preseason win over the Jaguars on Thursday.
Analysis: Sanders was exponentially more efficient than during his preseason debut against the Titans last Thursday, with his game-long 16-yard run serving as the highlight of his evening. The rookie has a modest eight carries through the first pair of preseason games, but he's likely to see a bump in workload during next week's contest versus the Ravens.

Makes little impact in debut
Sanders carried the ball three times for three yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Titans.
Analysis: The Eagles deployed a true backfield committee in their preseason opener, with five different RBs getting either three or four carries, but Sanders may have been the least impressive of the bunch. The rookie still has plenty of upside given his athleticism and the investment the team made in him as a second-round pick, but Sanders will need to show more than this if he wants to overtake Jordan Howard at the top of the depth chart.

Has leg up on starting gig
Sanders could be the Eagles' No. 1 back soon if he is not already, Matt Mullin of PhillyVoice reports.
Analysis: Both Sanders and his primary competition, Jordan Howard, have issues in the passing game, but the rookie has been good enough in that regard while simply making the most plays. There is a growing media consensus that Sanders is the more talented of the pair, and while the Eagles will employ a committee, the Penn State product could head into the season handling the bulk of the work, especially on early downs.

Able to practice Saturday
Sanders (foot) participated in practice Saturday, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
Analysis: Sanders was dinged up in Thursday's practice but was evidently able to make a full recovery, as he was spotted working on his pass blocking as well as running routes. Sanders is locked in a heated battle for playing time along with Jordan Howard, Darren Sproles and Corey Clement, so any missed time would have hardly been ideal. Sanders headed to the medical tent to be evaluated after sustaining a possible foot injury during Thursday's practice, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: The Eagles' backfield situation is pretty crowded at this stage, but the 2019 second-rounder is a lock to claim a role to start the season, if healthy. With Darren Sproles set to work in a pass-catching role, Sanders' prime competition for early down work is Jordan Howard.
