Breaks three-game catchless skid
Edwards caught his lone target for an 11-yard gain during Saturday's 26-25 loss to the Dolphins.
Analysis: Ankle and foot injuries cost Edwards a total of four games between October and November. Even when on the field, however, the third-round rookie has been largely unimpactful. He flashed with four combined receptions for 90 yards between Weeks 2 and 3, but since returning from injury Week 9 against the Chargers, Edwards has yet to exceed one catch or 16 yards in any outing. He remains a depth receiving option as the Raiders move into a Week 17 matchup against the Broncos that is no longer…read more

Could handle more reps
Coach Jon Gruden said Friday that Edwards could get a chance to play more over the final two games, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Gruden cited the fact that Edwards was in COVID-19 protocol last week for his lack of playing time. Still, Edwards hasn't played more than 32 percent of the offensive snaps since Week 3, a trend that was well-established before entering COVID-19 protocol. However, he could get more reps down the stretch out of necessity if Hunter Renfrow (concussion) is forced to miss any time.

Posts another dud
Edwards was not targeted in Sunday's 44-27 loss to the Colts.
Analysis: Edwards logged 20 offensive snaps for just the second time since the Raiders' Week 6 bye as the Colts grew a large lead in the second half, but the rookie failed to translate his playing time into production. He's gone since Week 3 without a multi-reception effort, and that trend may continue this week on Thursday Night Football against the Chargers.

Logs 15 snaps in close victory
Edwards failed to reel in his only target in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Edwards' role in the Raiders' offense has been severely limited due to the resurgence of Nelson Agholor alongside fellow receivers Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow, while tight end Darren Waller remains a focal point of the team's aerial attack as well. A relatively difficult matchup against the Colts awaits in Week 14.

Two targets in blowout defeat
Edwards caught one pass for 15 yards on two targets in Sunday's 43-6 loss to the Falcons.
Analysis: Edwards' 19 offensive snaps Sunday more than doubled his amount from the Raiders' Week 11 loss to the Chiefs, but the rookie wide receiver is averaging just 1.25 targets per game since returning from foot and ankle injuries against the Chargers in Week 9. Additional opportunities could appear for Edwards in Week 13 against the winless Jets if the Raiders manage to build a significant lead, however.

Tallies one reception in loss
Edwards caught one pass for one yard on two targets in Sunday's 35-31 loss to the Chiefs.
Analysis: Edwards was targeted on two of his nine offensive snaps, but he's seemingly still being eased back into action since his Week 9 return from ankle and foot injuries. The Falcons' secondary has been generous to opposing wide receivers this season, but Edwards remains behind Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow at wide receiver ahead of a Week 12 matchup in Atlanta.

First catch since Week 3
Edwards caught his only target for 16 yards in Sunday's 37-12 win over the Broncos.
Analysis: Edwards, who saw the field for just one play in Week 9 upon his return from ankle and foot injuries, was somewhat factored back into the mix with a 28-percent snap share Sunday. He figures to remain behind Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow in the pecking order at wide receiver when the Raiders host the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football.

Cleared for Week 9
Edwards (foot/ankle) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game versus the Chargers.
Analysis: Edwards hasn't played a snap since Week 3, but now he has two full practices under his belt and is ready for Sunday's divisional tilt. Nelson Agholor has carved out a role in the Raiders' offense, so Edwards likely will operate as the No. 4 wide receiver behind Agholor, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow. Edwards should have an opportunity to secure more responsibility once he's eased into the lineup.

Practices without limitations
Edwards (foot/ankle) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: Edwards hasn't suited up for game action since Week 3 in New England, but his ability to practice fully Thursday would seem to indicate that he's on track to return against the Chargers on Sunday. Given how cautious the Raiders have been regarding Edwards' recovery, the team could opt to ease him back to action behind Henry Ruggs, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow, rather than counting on the rookie to immediately re-enter the starting rotation.

Remains limited at practice
Edwards (foot/ankle) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards practiced last week for the first time since injuring his foot and ankle Week 3, but three consecutive limited showings weren't enough for the Raiders to clear the rookie third-round pick for action. He's kicking off this week in the same fashion, so it'll be interesting to see if he can elevate to full activity by Friday. If Edwards is unable to make the requisite progress, Henry Ruggs, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow will be the team's most utilized wide receivers Sunday against the…read more

Not playing in Cleveland
Edwards (ankle) is inactive Week 8 against the Browns.
Analysis: Edwards hasn't seen the field since Week 3 against New England, and despite returning to practice this week, he'll have to wait until at least Week 9 to make his return. Meanwhile, Henry Ruggs, Nelson Agholor and Hunter Renfrow will lead the receiving corps in what's expected to be a windy day in Cleveland.

Questionable for Week 8
Edwards (ankle/foot) is officially listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Browns.
Analysis: Edwards put forth a trio of limited sessions leading up to Sunday's game, his first practice reps since suffering an ankle sprain Week 3. Nelson Agholor, Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow have comprised the Raiders' starting group in three-receiver sets with Edwards out, so the rookie third-round pick could face some competition for snaps even if he's able to return in Cleveland.

First practice since Week 3
Edwards (ankle/foot) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Wednesday marked Edwards' first practice since he sprained his ankle in Week 3. If he shows enough progress in practice this week to suit up Sunday in Cleveland, Edwards could find himself out of the mix for a regular starting role alongside Henry Ruggs and Hunter Renfrow. Nelson Agholor has stepped up for the Raiders in Edwards' absence, hauling in 11 of 15 targets for 218 yards and three touchdowns over the past three contests.

Missing another game
Edwards (ankle/foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.
Analysis: Edwards will miss his third straight game due to lingering foot and ankle injures, despite the fact that he's had the benefit of a bye week to get additional rest. With the rookie third-round pick out, the Raiders will roll with Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Nelson Agholor in three-receiver sets.

Still not practicing
Edwards (ankle/foot) didn't practice Wednesday.
Analysis: It's not a great sign that Edwards still isn't practicing with the Raiders coming off their bye week. If Edwards remains sidelined for a third straight game Sunday against the Buccaneers, Henry Ruggs, Hunter Renfrow and Nelson Agholor would continue to head the team's wideout corps.

Ruled out for Week 5
Edwards (ankle/foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
Analysis: Edwards, who didn't practice Wednesday through Friday, thus remains in the week-to-week category, but perhaps the team's Week 6 bye will afford him enough recovery time to suit up Oct. 25 against the Buccaneers. On the plus side for the Raiders, fellow rookie Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) -- who is listed as questionable -- has a good chance to return to action this weekend.

Unable to practice Wednesday
Edwards (ankle/foot) was sidelined at Wednesday's practice, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Edwards missed the Raiders' Week 4 loss to the Bills, and his absence from practice Wednesday doesn't bode especially well for his chances of suiting up Sunday against the Chiefs. On the plus side for the Raiders, fellow rookie wideout Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday.

Won't play Sunday
Edwards (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: With Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) doubtful for the contest, Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones are in line to head the Raiders' Week 4 wide receiver corps.

Missing Wednesday's practice
Edwards (ankle) isn't practicing Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: With Ian Rapoport of NFL Network relaying earlier Wednesday that Edwards is considered week-to-week and is unlikely to play Sunday against the Bills, his absence from practice comes as little surprise. With Henry Ruggs (hamstring) also trending in the wrong direction for Week 4, the Raiders are expected to lean on the trio of Hunter Renfrow, Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones as their primary wideouts Week 4.

Likely out Week 4 with ankle sprain
Edwards is expected to be sidelined for the Raiders' Week 4 game against the Bills after spraining his ankle in Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Edwards is apparently dealing with a fairly significant sprain, as Rapoport notes that the Raiders are viewing him as week-to-week beyond the Bills game, suggesting the rookie could be in line to miss additional time. The Raiders' passing game has largely run through tight end Darren Waller this season, but Edwards has established himself as a starter at receiver for Las Vegas, totaling five receptions for 99 yards in three games while playing more than 60 percent of offensive snaps in the…read more

Spotted with walking boot
Edwards (ankle) was sporting a walking boot on his right foot Monday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: As Reed notes, it's early in the week, but Edwards' situation is one to monitor. Meanwhile, Vic Tafur of The Athletic relays that coach Jon Gruden acknowledged as Week 4's game against the Bills approaches that the team is "concerned about both" Edwards and Henry Ruggs (hamstring).

Misses most of second half
Edwards (ankle) missed the majority of the second half of Sunday's 36-20 loss to the Patriots, Levi Edwards of the Raiders' official site reports.
Analysis: The wideout suffered an ankle injury after coming down awkwardly following one of the two catches (for 48 yards) he made Sunday while being targeted three times. Edwards' Week 4 status is now worth monitoring, along with that of fellow rookie pass catcher Henry Ruggs (hamstring), who was inactive against New England.

Ready for Week 3 action
Edwards (foot) doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Patriots.
Analysis: The No. 81 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft logged limited practices this week, but he'll be able to give it a go Sunday and is thus slated to maintain his starting role in the team's offense. The Raiders will be without first-rounder Henry Ruggs (knee/hamstring) this week, meaning Zay Jones and Nelson Agholor are candidates for added snaps behind Edwards and Hunter Renfrow. Listed as limited Wednesday
Edwards is listed as a limited participant on Wednesday's injury report with a foot injury.
Analysis: Edwards appears to have emerged from Monday's win over the Saints with the injury, though his "limited" designation may not mean that much since Wednesday's injury report is only an estimation. The rookie wideout will have two more opportunities to log a full practice session ahead of Sunday's contest in New England.

Two grabs on MNF
Edwards caught both his targets for 42 yards in Monday night's 34-24 loss to the Saints.
Analysis: Edwards showed his big-play ability with a couple 20-plus yard grabs in his second NFL game. The imposing wideout actually trailed only Darren Waller for the team lead in receiving yards, but Waller was the only of 11 different Raiders pass-catchers to be targeted more than three times. That fact evidences the amount of unestablished options in Las Vegas' early-season passing game, but Edwards at least did well to distinguish himself in his two opportunities Monday.

Held to one reception in debut
Edwards caught his only target for nine yards in Sunday's 34-30 win over the Panthers.
Analysis: Edwards' 46 offensive snaps ranked third among all rookie wide receivers during Sunday's slate of Week 1 contests, but lofty playing time didn't translate to immediate fantasy production as quarterback Derek Carr favored his running backs and tight end Darren Waller per usual. Nonetheless, coach Jon Gruden's early trust in Edwards to fill the outside role usually manned by Tyrell Williams (shoulder) is a promising sign heading into a Week 2 matchup against the Saints.

Listed as Week 1 starter
Edwards is listed as a starter on the Raiders' first unofficial depth chart.
Analysis: Edwards will join fellow rookie Henry Ruggs and second-year slot man Hunter Renfrow to compose one of the youngest wide receiver corps in the league. The combination of an outstanding training camp and a season-ending injury to Tyrell Williams (shoulder) opens the path for Edwards to take over a immediate starting role on the outside, though it's possible that Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones also could see notable early season work if the Raiders don't want to throw too much at the rookie out of…read more

Separating from the pack?
Edwards has seen more consistent reps with the first-team offense than the likes of Nelson Agholor and Zay Jones, Vic Tafur, Jimmy Durkin, Ted Nguyen and Tashan Reed of The Athletic's State of the Nation podcast report.
Analysis: Edwards appears to have already earned the trust of Las Vegas' training staff, as Tafur speculates that the team would not hesitate to start the South Carolina product in the event that Tyrell Williams (shoulder) were forced to miss time. Still, Williams appears to have a fair shot at playing through his torn labrum, and if the veteran is on the field it's unlikely that Edwards would immediately usurp him. Earning first-team reps
Edwards, who has fully recovered from a broken foot he suffered prior to being drafted by the Raiders in April, has been earning reps with the first-team offense during his maiden training camp, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Edwards' impressive combination of speed and strength at 6-2 and 212 pounds has been turning heads early in camp, enough so to earn his reps with the starters as he builds chemistry with quarterback Derek Carr and battles for a role at outside receiver. Even though he's unlikely to surpass veteran Tyrell Williams on the depth chart as a rookie, Edwards could certainly force his way into playing time after slipping in the draft due to the aforementioned foot issue. Recovers from fractured foot
Edwards has recovered from the broken fifth metatarsal that he suffered in February, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.
Analysis: Edwards picked up the injury while training for the combine and was initially given a recovery timetable of 8-to-12 weeks. By early April, he was moving without a walking boot, and the Raiders later took him in the third round of the draft. Edwards and rookie first-rounder Henry Ruggs (thigh) join a wide receiver group composed of Tyrell Williams, Hunter Renfrow and a smattering of uninspiring vets. With Renfrow occupying the slot, Edwards' best bet to get reps likely will come on the outside…read more
