Draws eight targets from new QB
Amendola caught three of eight targets for 32 yards during Thursday's 24-20 loss to Chicago.
Analysis: Despite a change at quarterback from Jeff Driskel (hamstring) to third stringer David Blough, Amendola essentially matched the 32.3 receiving yards per game he had averaged in three contests with Driskel at the helm. However, Amendola easily could have done better had he been able to bring in a perfect over-the-shoulder pass that Blough tossed to him in the final minutes of the game. While a bigger outing wasn't meant to be, Amendola investors can at least take solace in the fact he saw as many…read more

Another quiet game
Amendola caught all three of his targets for 21 yards during Sunday's 19-16 loss to Washington.
Analysis: Yet again a distant third in playing time among Lions receivers behind Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones, Amendola is now averaging 5.7 targets, 3.7 receptions and 32.3 receiving yards through three games with backup quarterback Jeff Driskel. It's hard to be optimistic about him Week 12 with Matthew Stafford (back) unlikely to return for Thursday's Thanksgiving Day game against the Bears.

Team leader in receiving yards
Amendola caught four of five targets for 47 yards during Sunday's 35-27 loss to Dallas.
Analysis: The Lions offense was more competitive than most thought they'd be, and Amendola ultimately was its leading receiver despite being in a three-way tie for the team lead in targets. However, as Marvin Jones showed Sunday with two trips to the end zone, receivers playing with Jeff Driskel are probably reliant on touchdowns in order to be of fantasy value. Until Matthew Stafford (back) is able to play again, it'll be hard to trust Amendola to produce even in seemingly soft matchups, like the one…read more

Unable to rebound with backup QB
Amendola caught four of eight targets for 29 yards during Sunday's 20-13 loss to Chicago.
Analysis: The unexpected absence of starting quarterback Matthew Stafford (back) likely doomed Amendola's fantasy potential from the jump. While it can be argued that he should've had even more targets given how often he seemed to get open, Jeff Driskel's accuracy woes hardly allowed Amendola to produce anyway. If there's a bright side to Driskel potentially starting another game Week 11 against Dallas, it's that he targeted Amendola more than Stafford did (6.3 targets per game) on average. Also, it…read more

Production dips
Amendola caught three of five targets for 29 yards during Sunday's 31-24 loss to Oakland.
Analysis: Amendola was once again in the starting lineup but yet again saw less playing time (43 snaps) than Marvin Jones (63) and Kenny Golladay (58). After collecting 16 of 19 passes for 200 yards over the previous two games, Sunday was evidence for even the most optimistic Amendola supporters that the veteran's early-season chest injury can't totally be to blame for the veteran's concurrent downturn in production in Weeks 2 through 6, a disappointing stretch that made it confusing as to whether…read more

Another productive day
Amendola caught all eight of his targets for 95 yards during Sunday's 31-26 victory over the Giants.
Analysis: Kenny Golladay stole the show with a pair of touchdown catches, but Amendola was crucial in helping Detroit sustain drives - just like he was last week against the Vikings. In fact, Amendola has now been the target of almost a quarter of Matthew Stafford's pass attempts over the past two games. While fantasy owners should still keep in mind that Amendola seems to have a low floor in this offense -- he caught just five of seven targets for 43 yards in three games from Week 2 through Week 6 --…read more

Leads team in receiving yards
Amendola caught eight of 11 targets for 105 yards during Sunday's 42-30 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Amendola led the team in receiving yards while finishing behind only Marvin Jones in targets and catches. He had struggled to the tune of just five receptions for 43 yards since Week 1, so this effort was a bit out of the blue for the veteran. Amendola, who is still capable of thriving under the right conditions in a capable Lions offense, should pose a threat again next Sunday against the Giants.

One target in return from injury
Amendola caught his only target for a six-yard gain during Monday's 23-22 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Making his return from an unspecified chest injury, Amendola logged a modest 20 offensive snaps during a game in which Detroit made heavy use of multi-tight-end sets. Five other Lions receivers saw more targets, including tight end T.J. Hockenson, who got six targets and is looking like Matthew Stafford's preferred short-area target. Unless he starts getting as involved in the offense as he was in Week 1, it won't be easy to trust Amendola as a fantasy option.

Suiting up Monday
Amendola (chest) is listed as active Monday in Green Bay
Analysis: Making his return to action for the first time since Week 3, Amendola appears to be past the chest injury that forced him to miss one contest. On the season, he's been hit-or-miss, going for 104 yards and a TD on 13 targets in Week 1 while combining for a 4-37-0 line on six targets in his other two appearances. Amendola will look to bounce back against a Packers defense that has allowed an NFL-worst 17.3 yards per catch to wide receivers to date.

Deemed questionable for Monday
Amendola (chest) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Packers.
Analysis: Amendola was a limited participant in practice all week, and his final status likely won't be revealed until 90 minutes before Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff. Expect Marvin Hall to bump up to the No. 3 wideout role if Amendola can't go.

Limited again Friday
Amendola (chest) was estimated as a limited practice participant Friday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: The Lions held a walkthrough Friday, but Amendola would have maintained his activity level for a second straight session, if the team had held one. He'll have one more chance to prove his health in advance of Monday's game at Green Bay.

Restricted in practice
Amendola (chest) was a limited participant in Thursday's practice.
Analysis: The veteran slot man hasn't completely moved past the chest injury he suffered in Week 3, even after sitting out the Week 4 loss to the Chiefs and benefiting from a Week 5 bye. That said, his ability to practice in some fashion to begin the current week offers some early hope that Amendola will be ready to go by the time Monday's game against the Packers arrives.

Amendola (chest) participated in practice Wednesday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: Amendola suffered a chest injury in Week 3 and subsequently missed Week 4 despite logging a limited practice the Friday before the game. Having since had Detroit's bye week to recover, he has a decent chance to play Monday in Green Bay. Amendola's level of participation on the official injury reports Thursday through Saturday will provide more clarity about his availability.

Sitting out Sunday
Amendola (chest) is listed as inactive Sunday versus the Chiefs.
Analysis: After managing just one limited practice this week due to a chest injury, Amendola has upheld a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network earlier Sunday that he was iffy to play Week 4. Amendola doesn't have a direct backup out of the slot, which could mean more routes for tight ends T.J. Hockenson and Jesse James.

Availability for Week 4 uncertain
Amendola (chest), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, is less likely to play in the contest than teammate Matthew Stafford (hip), Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: Both players carry questionable tags into the Week 4 matchup, but Stafford -- a late addition to the Lions' injury report -- is expected to suit up if he incurs no setbacks with the injured hip during pregame warmups. Amendola, meanwhile, is shaping up to be a game-time call after managing only one limited practice during the week while he nursed the chest issue. If Amendola is inactive for the first time all season, Marvin Hall or Tom Kennedy would be thrust into the No. 3 receiver role.

Questionable after limited practice
Amendola (chest) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Kansas City, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Will practice Friday
Amendola (chest) will practice Friday, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
Analysis: It's not clear how much Amendola will be able to do Friday, but he will be able to get in at least some work after sitting out practice the previous two days. While Amendola will be on the field Friday, Palmer notes the team has also called up receiver Tom Kennedy from the practice squad, so Amendola isn't out of the woods by any means. The Lions will reveal Amendola's status for Week 4 at some point after Friday's practice concludes.

No practice reps Thursday
Amendola (chest) didn't practice Thursday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Analysis: With back-to-back absences to open Week 4 prep, Amendola isn't putting himself into a position to play Sunday against the Chiefs. Fortunately for the veteran wide receiver, he has another chance to show off his health Friday, at which point the Lions will relay his potential to suit up. In the event Amendola is held out, Marvin Hall would be the prime candidate to work out of the slot alongside Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones.

Chest injury surfaces
Amendola did not practice Wednesday due to a chest injury.
Analysis: Amendola appears to have picked up a chest injury during Week 3's win over the Eagles, in which he caught four of five targets for 37 yards. The severity of Amendola's injury remains undisclosed, and he'll likely need to return to practice Thursday or Friday in order to have a chance of suiting up Week 4 versus the Chiefs. Snags four receptions in win
Amendola brought in four of five targets for 37 yards in the Lions' 27-24 win over the Eagles on Sunday.
Analysis: The veteran possession receiver's modest reception tally nevertheless checked in second on the afternoon for the Lions. Amendola saw 13 targets in the overtime tie with the Cardinals back in Week 1, but after logging just six looks overall in the last pair of contests, it's evident that season-opening volume was largely a byproduct of both the extra period and the breakneck pace of the Cardinals offense affording Detroit plenty of extra possessions. Amendola was targeted once but did not record a reception during Sunday's 13-10 victory over the Chargers.
Analysis: Amendola again saw over half of the offensive snaps but was barely involved after seeming like Matthew Stafford's best friend in Week 1, when Amendola brought in seven of 13 targets for 104 yards and a score. It could be an up-and-down campaign for the veteran slot receiver with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, T.J. Hockenson and Kerryon Johnson also fighting for significant target shares. Tops century mark
Amendola brought in seven of 13 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-27 tie with the Cardinals.
Analysis: It was a pretty impressive Lions debut for Amendola right up until the final minutes of overtime, when he caught a ball on the perimeter during a hurry-up situation. Instead of just slipping out of bounds, the 33-year-old inexplicably stayed in bounds and bled out a significant chunk of the clock. It was a potentially costly mistake that you wouldn't expect a nine-year veteran to make, and it threw cold water on Amendola's otherwise eye-popping numbers. Plays in preseason loss
Amendola (undisclosed) caught three of his four targets for 30 yards in the preseason loss Friday to the Bills.
Analysis: The Lions had been careful to manage Amendola's practice schedule, but the veteran receiver certainly seemed to get into a rhythm with starting quarterback Matthew Stafford, picking up consecutive 10-yard receptions during the team's third drive of the game. Analysis: Amendola was able to dress and put in some "light" work during joint practices with the Texans this week, but he did not participate in 11-on-11 drills. While it's not clear what sort of injury he's dealing with, it seems unlikely he'll see much, if any, action in Saturday's preseason game in Houston. Analysis: The deal includes a $4.5 million guaranteed bae salary, with incentives creating a max value of $5.75 million, per Rapoport. The 33-year-old slot receiver needed just three days to find a new team after he was released by the Dolphins on Friday. Cut loose by Dolphins
The Dolphins have released Amendola, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Though Amendola led the Dolphins in catches (59), targets (79) and receiving yards (575) over 15 games in 2018, the team elected to part ways with the veteran slot man, a move that will free up $6 million in salary cap space. The 33-year-old should have little trouble catching on with another franchise, though he's not likely to match the $6 million haul he earned in his first (and only) season with Miami.

The Dolphins aren't certain to retain Amendola ahead of the 2019 season, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola led the Dolphins in receptions (59), targets (79) and receiving yards (575) in the first season of a two-year, $12 million contract, but his release would clear up $6 million in cap space to help the front office kick off a rebuild under the new coaching staff. The 33-year-old slot specialist seemingly would be more valuable to a team that has a real chance to compete in 2019.

Caps season with quiet performance
Amendola nabbed four of five targets for 26 yards during Sunday's 42-17 loss to the Bills. He finishes up the year with 59 receptions for 575 yards and one touchdown.
Analysis: Amendola led the Dolphins in receiving in 2018 despite his lackluster production. The 33-year-old slot receiver notably looked his best during a five-game stretch in which Brock Osweiler started under center, when he caught 31 passes for 305 yards and his only touchdown of the year. Amendola has one year remaining on his two-year, $12 million dollar contract but has no guaranteed money in 2019 -- making his future in Miami anything but certain.

Returns to full practice
Amendola (knee) returned to a full practice Thursday.
Analysis: Amendola sat out practice for the third straight Wednesday, but his return to a full session Thursday confirms that his absence was maintenance-related. Amendola is thus slated to suit up Sunday against the Bills and while his fantasy upside in Week 17 isn't especially high, the veteran slot man figures to carve out a degree of PPR utility in deeper formats in Miami's season finale. Over his last two games, Amendola has combined for six catches on 11 targets for 70 yards.

Sits out practice
Amendola (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola played 31 of the Dolphins' 46 offensive snaps in a Week 16 loss to the Jaguars, catching all three of his targets for a team-high 40 yards. The knee issue that forced his lone absence of the season Week 13 against the Bills looks to be only a minor concern at this point. He sat out practice the last two Wednesdays before returning to limited sessions Thursday, so it's expected that he'll follow that path again ahead of the Dolphins' season finale this weekend in Buffalo.

Leads team in receiving
Amendola caught all three of his targets for 40 yards during Sunday's 17-7 loss to the Jaguars. He also rushed once for a loss of two yards.
Analysis: Amendola's mediocre numbers nonetheless allowed him to lead the Dolphins' wideouts during the Week 16 win, one in which quarterback Ryan Tannehill struggled to move the sticks with any regularity. The 33-year-old veteran has struggled to achieve fantasy relevance in Miami's low-volume passing offense all season.

Amendola (knee) practiced fully Thursday.
Analysis: Amendola, who was on the field for 39 of the Dolphins' 53 offensive snaps in the team's Week 15 loss to the Vikings, en route to hauling in three of his team-high eight targets for 30 yards, is thus in line to play Sunday against the Jaguars. Inefficient with targets in loss
Amendola caught three of eight targets for 30 yards during Sunday's 41-17 loss to the Vikings.
Analysis: Amendola was limited by a knee injury throughout practice leading up to Sunday's loss, and looked to be on a different page than quarterback Ryan Tannehill all day. Despite seeing his third highest amount of targets all season, Amendola was once again unable to put up notable fantasy points. Since Week 10, the 33-year-old has not exceeded 30 yards in a single game. He'll be hard to trust in all fantasy formats heading into Sunday's tilt against the Jaguars.

Amendola (knee) does not carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Analysis: Amendola toughed things out through his knee issue Week 14 versus the Patriots, but was limited to one catch for 10 yards in that contest. Unlikely to play in Week 13
Amendola (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Bills, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola didn't practice all week, making it unlikely that he'll be available Sunday. Even if he demonstrates enough progress in the next two days to earn an active status, he would likely be a shaky fantasy option while playing at less than full health against the NFL's best pass defense in terms of yardage allowed.

Game-time call for Week 13
Coach Adam Gase said Amendola (knee) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's contest against the Bills, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola wasn't able to practice this week, but the Dolphins haven't ruled out the possibility of the slot man rallying in time for Sunday's game. According to Gase, Amendola can run in a straight line at this stage, but lateral movement is still an issue for Miami's leading receiver. If he's out or limited this weekend, Kenny Stills could have a chance to make more of a mark in Week 13. With another wideout in DeVante Parker also tending to a shoulder issue and potentially set for limited work…read more

Still sidelined
Amendola (knee) wasn't spotted at practice Friday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola seems likely to miss Sunday's game against the Bills, though the Dolphins will provide official word on his status for the weekend when the team releases its final injury report later Friday. If Amendola is ruled out, Kenny Stills' profile in the Miami offense could grow, as DeVante Parker is still tending to a shoulder issue though trending toward active status. Added snaps could also be available for depth options Leonte Carroo and Brice Butler if Amendola is sidelined.

Misses another practice
Amendola (knee) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola will need to return to the field in some capacity Friday to have a realistic shot to suit up Sunday against the Bills. If he's unavailable for that contest, Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker (shoulder) -- health permitting -- would head the Dolphins' Week 13 receiving corps, with added snaps available for Leonte Carroo and Brice Butler.

Misses practice
Amendola (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: A knee injury limited Amendola to 14 offensive snaps in the Dolphins' Week 12 loss to the Colts. His absence from practice Wednesday suggests that his status for Sunday's game against the Bills could be in danger. If Amendola is unavailable during the upcoming weekend, added snaps would be available for Leonte Carroo and Brice Butler alongside Kenny Stills and DeVante Parker (shoulder) in three-receiver formations.

Won't practice much this week
Amendola isn't expected to do much work in practice ahead of the Dolphins' Week 13 game against the Bills while he manages a knee injury, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Amendola injured the knee during the first half of Sunday's 27-24 loss to Indianapolis, ultimately finishing with season-low marks for snaps (14), catches (one), yards (13) and targets (one). His inability to contribute after halftime suggests he's no lock to return for a difficult matchup during the upcoming weekend against the stingy Buffalo pass defense. With Albert Wilson (hip) and Jakeem Grant (Achilles) out for the rest of the season, Kenny Stills may be asked to handle more slot work if…read more

Listed as active Sunday
Amendola (hamstring) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Colts.
Analysis: With his Week 12 availability confirmed, Amendola merits attention in PPR formats, having hauled in 31 of his 41 targets for 305 yards and a TD over his last five outings. Working in the slot man's favor moving forward is that starting QB Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder) is back for his first game since Oct. 7.

Listed as questionable
Amendola (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts after practicing in a limited fashion all week.
Analysis: The same applies to DeVante Parker (shoulder), with official confirmation of the duo's Week 12 status set to arrive approximately 90 minutes prior to Sunday's 4:25 ET kickoff. If Amendola does play, he'd be in line to be a key target for Ryan Tannehill (right shoulder) in the QB's first game since Oct. 7. Amendola thus merits attention in PPR formats, having hauled in 31 of his 41 targets for 305 yards and a TD over his last five outings.

Limited in estimated practice report
Amendola (hamstring) was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's estimated practice report, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: Due to the holiday, the Dolphins didn't actually hold a practice Thursday, so Amendola retained the same "limited" tag he received Wednesday. He's expected to return to full participation Friday and should avoid an injury designation heading into Sunday's game against the Colts.

Limited in first practice of week
Amendola was limited in Wednesday's practice with a hamstring injury, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.
Analysis: There weren't any previous reports that Amendola was tending to an injury prior to the Dolphins' Week 11 bye, making it surprising that the wideout was listed with a hamstring issue on the team's first practice report of Week 12. The veteran wideout has previously had his reps capped early in weeks for maintenance purposes, so the assumption is that a similar plan is in place again. In any case, Amendola will clear up any concern about his availability for Sunday's game against the Colts by…read more

Records 72 receiving yards
Amendola caught seven of 10 targets for 72 yards during Sunday's 31-12 loss to the Packers.
Analysis: Amendola led the team in catches and receiving yards while finishing behind only DeVante Parker in targets. His long gain of 39 yards was Miami's biggest play of the night, and he did plenty of damage underneath as well. Amendola is averaging 6.2 receptions per game over the last five and should continue to see his share of looks as part of an unproven receiving corps. He'll be on bye next week before facing the Colts in Week 12.

Leads team in receiving versus Jets
Amendola caught five of seven targets for 47 yards during Sunday's 13-6 win over the Jets.
Analysis: Amendola led the team in targets, catches and receiving yardage, generating a long gain of 26 yards. Unfortunately, he compiled just 21 yards with his other four grabs en route to another underwhelming performance. Amendola continues to serve as a security blanket of sorts for Brock Osweiler, but that rarely turns into useful fantasy production. With that said, he could be busy in Week 10 as his team tries to keep pace with the Packers.
