Pre-Season Outlook
While he was never going to match his epic 2021 campaign, Kupp again led all wide receivers in PPR scoring average in 2022. He dropped from 13.4 yards per catch in 2021 to 10.8 in 2022, but there was still a sky-high catch rate (76.5 percent) and elite volume (10.9 targets per game) to keep him thriving until a high-ankle injury ended his season after nine games. Kupp made a full recovery last offseason, only to suffer a summer hamstring injury that kept him out Weeks 1-4. During that time, rookie Puka Nacua exploded for 501 yards and 52 targets. Kupp came back Week 5 and topped 100 yards in both of his first two games, but he then went five in a row without reaching 50 yards. By the end of the season, Kupp had fewer targets, catches, yards and TDs in 12 games than he'd produced in nine games the year before. His per-catch average rebounded to 12.5, but with his catch rate free-falling to a career-low 62.1 percent. Nacua, meanwhile, finished with the rookie record for receiving yards. The question now is whether Kupp can get back to No. 1 receiver status -- or at least co-No. 1 standing alongside Nacua -- if he enjoys a healthy offseason and summer rather than rehabbing.
